Risk of scalding through hot engine oil. Collect escaping oil and dispose of it without polluting the environment. Read and observe: “Inspection and servicing, safety instructions”.

• Bring engine oil to operating temperature. • Park the machine on a horizontal surface and secure against inadvertent movement. • Shut off the engine.

Fig. 4 • Drain off engine oil at the drain plug (Fig. 4). Use the oil-drainage hose for this. See “Draining hose for oil changes”. Once the engine oil has been drained off: • Unscrew oil-drainage hose, screw protective cap back onto oil drain plug. • Replace engine oil filter. • Fill engine oil in through filler opening (Fig. 2) until oil level reaches “max” mark on dipstick (Fig. 3). (For quality and quantity of oil, see: “Lubricants” and “Filling quantities for oil change”). • After running engine briefly, check oil level (see: “Checking the engine oil level/topping up oil”).
