Interrupting the natural gas supply

Note:

When switch (8) is pressed down, it is necessary to release the accelerator pedal completely to permit braking with the retarder.

Depress the accelerator pedal. Braking of the bus using the highest retarder stage is interrupted.

Note:

If the accelerator pedal is operated, retarder braking is interrupted until the accelerator pedal is fully released again.

The “Retarder active” indication display on the screen goes out.

Press the upper section of switch (8).

Braking of the bus using the highest retarder stage is switched off.

Caution:

If you smell natural gas either in or around the bus, have the bus taken to the nearest workshop immediately. In order that natural gas can be detected (it is normally odourless and colourless), natural gas suppliers add an odouriser to give it a distinct smell of sulphur. This rules out any confusion with the odour of exhaust gases produced by the catalytic converter, which is an odour
