Working with the machine

Halting uppercarriage with the positioning slewing brake

The positioning slewing brake is used for the progressive and precise slowing down of the uppercarriage.

Note!

Increased wear.

Do not use the positing slewing brake as a working brake, but only for special halting and parking manoeuvres of the slewing gear.

The uppercarriage should normally be stopped with the hydraulic brake (joystick to stop).

Operate the pedal 10

The uppercarriage is slowed down with great accuracy and stops in the desired position.

3.4.10Locking the superstructure

Locking of the superstructure happens automatically with the help of a hydraulic locking pin.

Locking:

Rotate the superstructure in the direction of travel parallel to the chassis.

If necessary, correct the position of the superstructure until the locking pin 1 is located centrally to the pillow block 2

Switch off servo control S35 or push the safety lever up. The locking pin 1 extends, the superstructure is locked (B). When the diesel engine is shut down, locking pin 1 also extends.

Unlocking:

Switch on servo control S35 and push the safety lever down. Locking pin 1 retracts, the superstructure is released (A).

3.4.11Adjustment of tool attachment

The machine can operate a range of tool attachments (additional consumers) with various pressure and flow rate settings. The respective selections are made in the operator's menu (see "Tool Control" menu).

Caution!

If an incorrect operating mode is chosen, the tool attachment might be damaged or its functions might be restricted.

Make sure that you have all the necessary information regarding the technical data of the tool attachment.

Use the tool attachment exclusively with the prescribed settings (Tool option).

In the operator's menu, select the pressure and flow settings required for the tool attachment you wish to operate (see chapter "Tool option").

3.4.12Operating tool attachment (by pedals, push buttons)

Danger!

The working attachment can cause serious or even fatal injury to persons. Ensure that no persons are standing inside the danger zone of the machine. It is strictly forbidden to guide the tool attachment by hand.

Danger!

If a large or wide attachment tool (e.g. grapple) is swivelled towards the operator's cab, it might collide with the cab or even break through it, causing danger to the machine operator.

Always keep a safe distance between the moving tool attachment and the operator's cab.

3.4.12.1Working functions

The working function of the tool attachment is controlled by pedals.

Examples: hydraulic hammer

Press the foot pedal k down. The hydraulic hammer is actuated.

Examples: Sorting grapple, scrap shears

Press the foot pedal k down. The tool attachment closes. Press the foot pedal m down. The tool attachment opens.

C Actuation at left and right joystick (optional equipment)

R/L Push button/direction of movement

Press the push buttons at the joystick to turn the tool attachment or to adjust it. The buttons are located at the right or left joystick (depending on machine equipment). The rotating function corresponds to the "rotate grapple" function used for grapples and other tool attachments.

Press the switch S19

The auxiliary functi on (grapple rotator) is activated. The LED in the switch is on.

Press and hold the button L The tool attachment turns (swivels) to the left. The lock pins are extended.

Press and hold the button R The tool attachment turns (swivels) to the right. The lock pins are retracted.

3.4.13Changeover of the control system (optional equipment)

Fig. 3-84 Changeover of the control system

On request, the machine can be equipped with a changeover unit of the control system kit. With this unit, it is possible to change the "tilt cylinder actuation" (e and f) over to the actuation of the tool (m and k).

Select the pressure and flow settings required for the respective tool on the display (see chapter "Display", Tool Control menu).

Changing over control:

To change over, turn the key switch S405

Turn the key switch S405 to position 1 The indicator light H322 is on. The control functions are changed over.

Turn the key switch S405 back to position 0. The indicator light H322 is off. The control system is changed back to its initial function.
