D RIVELINE T ROUBLESHOOTING

AVOIDABLE DAMAGES

POSSIBLE CAUSES CORRECTIVE ACTIONS

QUICK-DISCONNECT YOKE w Quick-disconnect pin tight or completely seized. w Quick-disconnect pin damaged (broken or bent) w Quick-disconnect pin damaged in the locking portion. w Quick-disconnect pin dirty (insufficient maintenance). w Quick-disconnect pin defective (forced engagement, incorrect handling) w Excessive shaft length. w Axial loads too high. w Clean, oil and follow service instructions. w Replace quick-disconnect pin. w Shorten shaft length (cut both telescopic tubes as well as shield and remove burrs). w Replace quick-disconnect pin. w Clean and grease telescopic tubes, and replace both tubes, if necessary. w Replace quick-disconnect pin.

Note: Quick-disconnect pins must be cleaned and greased every 16 hours.

YOKE

AVOIDABLE DAMAGES POSSIBLE CAUSES CORRECTIVE ACTIONS w Yoke ears deformation w Excessive shaft length. w Axial loads too high. w Excessive working angle and torque. w Shorten shaft length (cut both telescopic tubes as well as shields and remove burrs). w Replace defective yokes. w Clean and grease telescopic tubes, and replace both tubes, if necessary. w Replace defective yokes. w Verify compatibility between shaft and working conditions (torque vs. angle). w Disengage tractor driveline during cornering or when lifting or lowering the implement. w Change to a larger driveline size. w Replace defective yokes. w Yoke ears distorted. w Overload caused by high starting and peak torques. w Engage driveline more carefully. w Use appropriate safety devices. w Replace defective yokes. w Disengage tractor driveline during cornering. w Replace defective yokes.

Yoke ears worn or pounded. w Excessive working angle. w Avoid excessive working angle.

CROSS KIT

w Excessive continuous torque and/or excessive working angle.

w Verify compatibility between shaft and working conditions.

w Carefully follow greasing instructions.

w Replace defective cross bearings.

w Accelerated wear of cross kit.

w Excessive continuous torque and/or excessive working angle.

w Inadequate greasing.

w Replace defective cross bearings.

Note: Cross bearings must be greased every 8 working hours.

TELESCOPIC TUBES

w Replace the driveline drive shaft with one having adequate length.

w Extreme load when sliding.

w Inadequate greasing.

w Dirt w Change to a driveline with rilsan coated inner tube. w Replace the driveline with one having adequate length. w Carefully follow greasing instructions. w Replace defective tubes.

Note: Telescopic tubes must be cleaned and greased every 8 working hours.

SHIELD

w Excessive wear of shield bearings.

w Insufficient lubrication.

w Incorrect chain mounting.

w Shield interfering with implement.

w Follow lubrication instructions.

w Mount chain to allow maximum angularity.

w Avoid contact of the shields with fixed parts of the machine or tractor.

w Replace shield bearings.

w Chain moving or failure. w Shield interfering with implement.

w Incorrect chain mounting.

w Avoid contact of the shields with fixed parts of the machine or tractor.

w Mount chain to allow maximum angularity.

w Replace defective parts.

w Shield cone damaged. w Shield cone in contact with components on the tractor and/or implement.

w Excessive angularity.

w Eliminate interference between Shield cones and any part on the tractor and/or implement.

w Avoid excessive angle during cornering or when lifting or lowering the implement.

w Replace damaged Shield cones.

w Shield tubes damaged (deformed and split at one side).

w Shields in contact with components on the tractor and/or implement.

w Shield tubes overlap too short or no overlap at all with extended driveline.

w Eliminate interference between Shield cones and any part on the tractor and/or implement.

w Replace damaged tubes.

w Adjust Shield tubes length with longer tubes.

Note: Shield bearings must be greased every 8 working hours.
