65.Cab ventilation
1. Ventilation fan switch 55*
Turn switch to operate the 3-speed cab fan.
The fan must be used together with both the heater unit and the air conditioner. The fan must be on (1st, 2nd or 3rd speed) to operate the air conditioner. 2. Air flow regulator 55*
Selects direction of the air flow, either towards the driver's feet or towards the windows (front windscreen, side windows and back window).
Turning counter clockwise to increase the air flow towards the driver's feet.
Turning clockwise to increase the air flow towards the windows. 3. Heater regulator 55*
Adjust air heating with the knob. The air is heated by the engine coolant. Turning clockwise increases heating. 4. Air conditioner switch 55*
Push the switch to activate the air conditioner system.
A compressor (engine mounted) and a cooling element cools the air when the engine is running and this air conditioner switch is set to on.
Recirculation switch 55*
The switch has two positions:
Pos I:Fresh air in cab. Air intake is fully open.
Pos. II:Recirculation of the internal air. The ventilation fan must be used to circulate the air.
The intake air is filtered before it enters the cab. All nozzles, except nozzles for the front windscreen, are adjustable, and air may be directed in the desired direction. It is also possible to close the nozzles.
General about heat and ventilation
•Keep the door and window shut. •Always open the nozzles when operating the dump truck. •Direct the air flow so that it does not blow straight on uncovered skin. •Always turn the fan on (1st, 2nd or 3rd speed) when operating the dump truck and adjust fan speed until it feels comfortable in the cab. •When using air conditioner, do not direct the air flow directly towards the windows, it can cause steamy windows.

410252 Setting heat and ventilation

Without air conditioning
How to get...... ......maximum heat:
•All nozzles fully open. •Heater regulator (65.3) on max., i.e right position •Fan switch (65.1) on max, i.e. speed 3. •Air flow regulator (65.2) to driver's feet i.e. left position. •Recirculation switch (65.5) on pos II, recirculation (- 410251). If condensation forms, see "......remove condensation from all windows.
...... pleasant working temperature:
•All nozzles fully open. •Heater regulator (65.3) on max., i.e. right position •When the correct temperature has been obtained, turn heater regulator (65.3) (left) until you maintain the desired temperature. •Air flow regulator (65.2) turned to the position which feels most comfortable. •Recirculation switch (65.5) on pos I, fresh air (- 410251). •Fan switch (65.1) set to speed 1 or 2.
......fresh air in cab:
•All nozzles fully open. •Heater regulator (65.3) on min., i.e. left position •Air flow regulator (65.2) on max. air flow towards the driver's feet, i.e. left position. •Recirculation switch (65.5) on pos I, fresh air (- 410251). •Fan switch (65.1) on max, i.e. speed 3.

410252 Setting heat and ventilation

Without air conditioning
How to get...... ......rid of condensation and ice on all windows:
•Nozzles towards the windows fully open. •Heater regulator (65.3) on max., i.e. right position •Air flow regulator (65.2) on max. air flow towards the windows, i.e. right position. •Recirculation switch (65.5) on pos I, fresh air (- 410251). •Fan switch (65.1) on max, i.e. speed 3.
This instruction is a basic recommendation, and each driver should learn to set and regulate the heating/ventilation unit, to give the correct temperature without draughts and achieve best working environment.
CAUTION
Ensure good ventilation! Do not operate the dump truck without ventilation, or with the cab entirely closed, unless the fan is on. Poor ventilation can cause drowsiness (lack of oxygen).

410252 Air conditioner

How to get...... ......a pleasant temperature quickly:
•Nozzles towards the driver's feet fully open. •Heater regulator (65.3) on min., i.e. left position •Air flow regulator (65.2) on max. air flow towards the driver's feet, i.e. left position. •Air flow switch (65.5) on pos II, recirculation (- 410251). •Fan switch (65.1) on max, i.e. speed 3. •Switch (65.4) pressed down, i.e. air conditioner engaged.
When the temperature has been lowered to the level you want:
•Turn the fan switch (65.1) to the position which maintains the desired temperature. •Turn the air flow regulator (65.2) to the position which feels most comfortable. •Adjust the nozzles towards the driver to a comfortable position.

410252 ...... rid of air humidity in the cab:
•All nozzles fully open. •Heater regulator (65.3) on max., i.e right position •Air flow regulator (65.2) on max. air flow towards the windows, i.e. right position. •Recirculation switch (65.5) on pos II, recirculation (-410251). •Fan switch (65.1) on max., i.e speed 3. •Switch (65.4) pressed down, i.e air conditioner engaged. •In very cold countries, use of the air conditioner will retain humidity in cab air which may become too dry through heating.

This instruction is a basic recommendation, and each driver should learn to set and regulate the air conditioning unit, to give the correct temperature without draughts and achieve best working environment.
