8 Prior to operation

Danger!

When working on the machine, there is always risk of injury from a suddenly activated drive! –Switch off the tractor engine, and remove ignition key.

ITEMS TO CHECK AND OBSERVE BEFORE OPERATION

1.When in use, the tractor must be equipped with a double-acting control valve and a single-acting control valve. 2.Check oil level in reduction gears. 3.Check oil level in gearbox. 4.Before first time use, lubricate rotary swather thoroughly. 5.Check that all screws are tight. 6.Check all safety devices (e.g. overload clutches, covers of drive elements,...) for correct function and installation. 7.Do not exceed p.t.o. Speed of 540rpm. 8.Always engage tractor PTO with the engine running at idling speed. 9.After hitching up the swather and coupling the drive shaft, carefully steer the tractor to right and left to check the drive shaft for free movement in all operating positions. 10.Use safety chains to prevent drive shaft guards from rotating with the drive shaft. 11.Connect the 7-pin plug (driving lights) to the socket on the tractor. 12.Check tyre pressures, and correct if necessary, in accordance with »Specifications«. 13.Direct all persons out of the danger area. Should any person approach the rotary swather, switch it off immediately. 14.Never allow the rotary swather to run unattended.
