Nilos-ring
Type : CL 19 Transfer case in CLAAS SFM Grassland machine Drawing no.: VGZ 75-521 Valid as of serial no. : 01 Preparation of data : 22.01.2007 Author: Rauh
• Install three needle bearings (No.32), push the big gear (No.33) and then the washer (No.34) onto the output shaft (No.36) and insert bearing inner ring (No.35) until it is seated snugly against washer (No.34). • Also install shifting sleeve (No.31), new needle bearings (No.30), gear (No.29), and washer (No.28) onto output shaft (No.36) and insert bearing inner ring (No.27) until it is seated snugly against washer (No.28).
Caution: The three needle bearings (32) must contain needle rollers of the same diameter tolerances such that the bearing load is equally distributed. • Insert new bearing outer raceway (No.27) into housing (No.15) and new bearing outer raceway (No.35) into housing (No.16) until it is seated 4 - 5 mm inner. Measured from the outside face of housing (No.16). • Mount output shaft (No.36), without gear block (No.23)from the top into housing (No.16) and place new gasket (No.11) between housing halves, mount housing (No.15) on top of housing (No.16) and tighten with 4 hex bolts (No.13). • Push in bearing outer raceway (No.35) until there is no axial play between both bearings (No.27) and (No.35). Mount cover (No.73) with new gasket (No.72) onto housing (No.16) and tighten with 2 hex bolts (No.90). • Measure distance „a3“ between bearing outer ring (No.35) and inside face of cover (No.73) with a dial gauge. The selected washer package thickness (No.74) has to be 0,1 - 0,3 mm less that space „a 3“ measured. • Remove cover (No.73) and press new oil seals (No.40, 41) into cover (No.73) and fill 50% of the volume between the bearing (No.35) and the seal lips of (No.40) and (No.41) with long lasting grease. • Insert new O-ring into the groove of the shaft (behind the spline). • Insert selected washer package (No.74), mount cover (No.73) with the new gasket (No.72) onto housing (No.16) and tighten with hex bolts (No.90). Tightening torque is 67 Nm.
When installing the cover ensure that the decided spacer package (No.74) is placed between the bearing (No.35) and cover (No.73). • Remove housing (No.15) after loosening the four hex bolts (No.13) and insert bearing (No.1) into housing (No.15). Remove output shaft (No.36) from housing (No.16). • Mesh the gear (No.33) with the pinion toothing on the wheel block (No.23). Both shafts (No.23, 36) with gear (No.33) must be installed into housing (No.16) together, so that the teeth of the middle gear of the intermediate shaft meet the gaps of the toothing on the input shaft, and the shafts find their way into bearing (No.25). At the same time slide shifting fork (No.7) and shifting lever (No.42) on the shifting sleeve (No.31) and onto the end of the shifting rod (No.43). Care must be taken to damage Nilos ring (No.18). • Cover the threads of the shifting rod (No.43) and hex nut (No.45) on their whole length and circumference with Loctite 262 and tighten the nut with 135 Nm torque. During this counter the shifting rod at its flattened opposite end (wrench size 13). • Check the seat of both dowel pins (No.12) and 6 shear pins (No.19) between housing halves. • Place a new gasket (No.11) between and from above place housing (No.15) onto housing (No.16). Support by carefully hitting the housing with a rubber hammer. Tighten both housing
