STEERINGCONTROLUNIT/PILOTOPERATED STEERING VALVE
Blakefield South FBL-55H Service Manual
The orbital steering control unit controls the direction of flow of oil to and from the steering cylinder by acting as a pilot unit to deliver oil at low pressure and low flow to the EHPS steering valve. This is achieved at a metered rate and is unaffected by pump flow. The EHPS pilot operated steering valve is fitted with cross relief valves, set at 20.68 MPa (3000 psi) to provide pressure relief for the cylinder in the event of an excessive external force. No routine servicing is required on the steering control unit and pilot operated steering valve other than routine checking for the presence of oil leaks. A service kit is available for seal and spring replacement and is detailed in the FBL-55H Parts Manual.
