Through the Tennis Excellence Program, students are subjected to an intense training regime with a timetable structured around the study of three vocational education qualifications. “Education and High Performance sports coaching are becoming increasingly linked. Athletes are looking for programs that allow them to gain an education while not interrupting their training and competition schedule,” says Tennis Plus Academy’s Director Grant Anderson. Aspiring tennis players enter the Tennis Excellence Program with the aim of giving themselves the best opportunity to further their tennis ability. Each week student athletes supplement their studies with 20 plus hours on court with expert coaches. One of the reasons the educational outcomes of the program are so appealing is due to the integration of student’s theoretical studies with the practical applications they receive throughout the high performance-coaching program. “Any tennis player with the desire to improve and succeed in the sport needs to develop their ability to learn not only on the court but also in the classroom. The innovative combination of education delivery and tennis coaching developed through our Tennis Excellence Program is the ideal environment for players to maximise their success,” says Director of Coaching John Birrell.
