“Sisters are for sharing laughter and wiping tears.

For my sister, Daryl Ann Severyn From Russia with love.

Russia is the largest country in the world, covering more than one eighth of Earth’s inhabited land area with a population if 143 million. It is a country of vast landscapes, vibrant life, beautiful contrasts, and interesting people. St. Petersburg is Russia’s most European city and is known as the “Venice of the North” due to the canal system throughout the city. It is a major European culture center and also an important Russian port on the Baltic Sea. From 1732 to 1918 the city served as the imperial capital of Russia. In 1918 the central government bodies moved it to Moscow. Moscow is in the heart of Russia. It is a city of broad boulevards, bridges, fountains, art museums, and hundreds of gilded domes. Moscow’s Tretyakov and St. Petersburg’s Hermitage stand among the top museums in Europe. The ballet and symphony are considered high art in Russia and today’s performers carry on the legacies of the greats.
