High School: Bible Courses

The high school Bible department is one of the main distinctives at Heritage Christian School. The discipleship of young Christian minds is dependent upon teaching Scripture, exploring truth, understanding other worldviews, and witnessing personal change. No matter what field our students enter after graduation, our desire is for God’s Word to be their foundation.

The high school Bible curriculum is structured to explore seven key tenets of the Christian life.

1. Learning inductive Bible study methods helps students study and interpret Scripture on their own.

2. Understanding Christian doctrine solidifies crucial biblical truths.

3. Interacting with diverse worldviews allows students to challenge the truth or error of any thought system.

4. Knowing Church history reminds the 21st century mind that opportunities and problems are not new.

5. Building godly relationships requires a biblical foundation.

6. Practicing apologetics helps students know how to defend their faith.

7. Interpreting other subjects through a biblical lens connects the rest of the world with the Bible.

All Bible courses are one semester in length and students are required to take a minimum of six courses in their high school career. This allows them to select from a variety of courses based on their interests.

Students are required to take Worldviews as one of their Bible electives. In this class, students analyze widely accepted worldviews such as Naturalism and Existentialism and compare it with the Christian worldview, which equips students to defend their faith as they leave Heritage.
