A Discipleship School

Since its founding over half a century ago, Heritage Christian School has maintained a firm conviction to train and teach its students in accordance with Scripture. Heritage Christian believes in placing an equal emphasis on academic excellence and relational discipleship, maintaining that Christ is preeminent in all things and that the Bible is the source for all wisdom and knowledge. The school presents the Gospel through various avenues in order to reach students holistically, as the beauty of God’s creation and his Gospel permeate all spheres of our lives: through the rigor of academic training; the creativity of music, art, and theatrical training; healthy competition and the physical rigor of sport; and the joys and challenges of relationships.

Heritage Christian hires faculty and staff who profess faith in Jesus Christ. The faculty and staff make it part of their mission to minister to students, both in and out of the classroom. They do this by challenging their students to see the work of God in light of their particular school subject, by mentoring students formally and informally, by building relationships with students and their families, and by living Gospel-centered lives.

Because Christ is preeminent in all things, Heritage Christian believes we can serve God in all that we do. This includes playing sports to the best of our abilities, creating art and music, and competing in math and science competitions, to name a few. Heritage coaches also work hard to disciple students and encourage them to understand spiritual truths through sport.

Heritage is dedicated to teaching biblical doctrines, core truths, and Christian living. Students hear and learn God’s Word every day in the classroom, as curriculum for every grade level includes Bible instruction and Scripture memorization. Studentsalso hear various perspectives and interpretations of the Word through pastors, teachers, and outside speakers in chapel.

Heritage students learn from an early age the importance of showing Christ’s love to those in need. The school supports various local and global care ministries and solicits the help of students and families. Elementary students collect Coins for the Kingdom to benefit an overseas orphanage and participate in A Day Without Shoes, a shoe collection drive for needy kids around the world. During the holidays, Heritage partners with Samaritan’s Purse as an official drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child. Middle and high school students greet those who visit campus to donate their boxes, then pack and load the donated boxes into distribution trucks. Every semester, middle and high school students also participate in service days, in which they travel to local organizations and ministries to work and serve for a day.
