Let’s Ask Lucy The Magazine finds out what makes the woman who could be our new MP tick Q- Lucy, what made you stand for Parliament? LUCY - As a parent, I was concerned about the lack of money for my children’s education. I was told the problem was government funding so I decided to get elected to get Herefordshire a fair deal Q - What do you see as the biggest problem in Herefordshire - and what is the solution? LUCY - All services are suffering from a lack of money. Herefordshire was already under-funded, so further cuts have meant it’s been impossible to maintain any sort of service. The solution is to get a fairer share of funding for rural counties. Q - Why should we vote for you? LUCY - I’ve grown up and lived in this county with my family. I understand on a day-to-day basis, the problems that Herefordshire faces. I believe this knowledge, combined with a determination to bring change, makes me someone who can help Herefordians. Q - What can we expect from Lucy Hurds MP? LUCY - When I start a job, I don’t give up until it is finished. I will continue to work around the clock to make sure Herefordshire’s voice is heard and that we as a county have a fair chance.
