Don’t worry if you have never driven a boat before, most of our customers have little or no experience when they first arrive. Our cruisers are very easy to handle and our staff will give you a thorough tutorial and a test drive before you depart for your holiday. All of our cruisers are fully equipped with everything you may need for a comfortable stay. Our friendly staff are always on hand to help your holiday run smoothly.

Over 90 years of continuous Boating Holidays on the Norfolk Broads

Herbert Woods is a name synonymous with both the Norfolk Broads and Potter Heigham. Herbert Woods began in 1929, when as a young man Herbert took over the family boat building firm Walter Woods & Sons. He then set about an ambitious plan of expanding the small fleet of Broads Hire cruisers and began the boat building and creating the mooring facilities of ‘Broads Haven’ that make up the marina that you see today.

Herbert Woods is the second largest hire boat yard on the Broads operating over 125 cruisers with a strong workforce who are dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service and will always make sure your Norfolk Broads holiday is one that will be remembered for many years to come.

QR Codes

QR meaning Quick Response codes allow smart phone users to access additional content via their smart phone. To use the QR code all you need to do is scan the code with your camera app or download a QR reader from the app store or play store depending on whether your device is Apple or Android. You will be directed to our website for each individual cruiser or webpage where you can find further information, prices and make a booking online. It’s that easy.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is available within the Herbert Woods marina and is free of charge for all of our cruiser and cottage customers to use for the duration of your holiday. Access to Herbert Woods Wi-Fi is via a unique access code which is included in your holiday prearrival email. We believe that a boating holiday is the perfect opportunity to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with family and friends, should you need to go online during your stay then many pubs/restaurants along the way offer free Wi-Fi access.
