PAUL E. “GENE” RICHARDSON

age 88, of Stilesville, passed away on November 20, 2021 in his residence.

He was born in Richland, Virginia on April 12, 1933 to the late Sherman and Hazel

Newberry Richardson. He married June Puckett on December 26, 1952; she survives.He worked as a factory worker for Union Carbide for 25 years retiring in 1990; after retirement he worked at Wal- Mart in Plainfield part time.

Gene was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clayton. He loved to raise mums and was also a part-time farmer.

Calling hours will be on Friday November 26, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. A funeral service will start at 2 p.m. on Friday with Rev. Robert Sampson

officiating. Burial will take place in Clayton Cemetery.Survivors include his wife, June Richardson; sons, Allen Eugene “Sam” Richardson and Ronnie Paul Richardson; brother, Bob Richardson; 6 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.

BILL H. WALTON

93, of Avon, passed away on November 19, 2021.

He was born on July 17, 1928 in Hendricks County to the late Paul and Mary Jane Walton. Bill was a 1947 graduate of Avon High School. He was an U.S. Air Force veteran during the Korean War.

Bill was the administrative V.P. for Indiana Lumberman’s Mutual Insurance Company from 1947 to 1990.

He was a member of the Avon United Methodist Church. Bill belonged to the Plainfield F & AM #653 since 1950. He was a member of the Indianapolis American Legion #100 and Scottsdale, Ariz. American Legion #44. Bill belonged to the Indianapolis Scottish Rite since 1950.

He loved raising and showing horses most of his life. That resulted in him moving to Scottsdale, Ariz. in 1998. Bill was a member of the Arizona Arabian Horse Association where he was the director for three years. He also enjoyed landscaping in his free time.

Bil was preceded in death by his sisters, Marjorie Blair and Imogene Clark.

Graveside services were Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include his nephews, Robert “Butch” Clark and Paul “Mace” Clark; niece, Linda Jean Clark.

NANCY J. JONES

83, of Danville, passed away on November 20, 2021.

Nancy was born on February 21, 1938 in Keith, Kentucky to the late Bob Delbert and Lena Cornett. She had been a Service Aid for Methodist Hospital, retiring in 1989. She was a member of Church of God United Assembly.

She was preceded in death by children, April Goyen and George Delbert Chapman and her parents.

She is survived by her children, Nelson (Treasa) Jones, Vivian Smith, Virginia (Richard) Coppage, Ivan Jones, Velvet Johnson and Harlan (Shelia) Jones; sisters, Mable Couch and Pat (Eugene) Pardon; 23 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Service took place Wednesday, November 24, at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.

RONALD LEE “RONNIE” URBAN

of Pittsboro, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021.

He was born May 20, 1955, one of 12 children of the late David and Betty (Moore) Urban. He married Carrie Reed on June 22, 2011. She survives.

Ronnie worked as an auto mechanic most of his life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and helping anyone in need. He loved to make people laugh and was the life of the party wherever he went.

Suriving are his wife Carrie, children, Wanda (Harry) Crouch, Kyle Urban, Lacey Urban and Jessica (Jason) Sutton, four step children; Tony Raison, Steven Raison, Shannon (Steven) Cox, and Bradley (Alycia) Raison, granddaughter Davanie, eleven step grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, siblings; David Allen Urban, DeAnn Urban, Mary Cadle, Barbara Cox, Paul (Debbie) Urban, Phil (Amy) Urban, Margaret (Robert) Newell, Norma (Mike) Strode, Earl “Butch” Urban, Rita (Andy) Smith, and Ricky (Kathy) Urban, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and grandsons Dylan Beck and Justin Raison.

A Celebration of Life took place Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Freedom Church, Indianapolis. Arrangements: Service & Morgan Funeral Home.

DONALD “DON” JOSEPH RINKER

60 of Pittsboro, peacefully passed away on November 15, 2021.

Don was born on July 28, 1961 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Don and Violet (Douglas) Rinker. He had a long and productive career as a construction supervisor and enjoyed coaching both softball and football.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Terri Rinker.

He is survived by his children, Tim Rinker, Mike Rinker, and Leslie Rinker; his brothers, Dennis Rinker, Dave Rinker, and Dan Rinker; and his six grandchildren.

DAVID DILLON KINDRICK

76, Brownsburg, passed away at home on November 19, 2021.

Born April 20, 1945 in Kingsport, Tenn., to William and Laura (Hickman) Kindrick, David lived in Eidson, Tenn., Middlesboro, Ky. and Pendleton Gap, Va. before moving to Indianapolis as a teenager.

David was a proud member of the United Auto Workers, working at Allison Transmission and retiring after 41 years. Following retirement, David worked another seven years at Dugan/Champion Auto dealership in Avon.

A former Little Leaguer who never lost the passion for baseball, he watched hundreds of MLB games every season. An avid I.U. basketball fan, David was pleased the undefeated 1976 team record still stands.

His wife, Shirley Saurbaugh Kindrick, preceded him in death in 2019 after 55 years of marriage.

David is survived by his son Alan S. Kindrick (wife Beverly Cook) of Fallbrook, California, daughter Melissa J. Powell of Brownsburg, grandson Robert Powell of Brownsburg, brother John Kindrick (wife Andrea) of Kingsport Tennessee, sister Barbara Duncan (husband David) of Avon, brothers-in-law Richard Savage of Columbus, Ohio and David Saurbaugh of Indianapolis.

Alan and Melissa would like to thank Lisa and Carolyn who were great friends to their parents for many years, always taking the time to check in on them.

Honoring David’s wish, there will not be a visitation but a burial service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday November 30.

JOHN W. “BILL” SCHINDLER, SR.

age 79, of Brownsburg, passed away on November 19, 2021.

He was born in Indianapolis on September 15, 1942, to the late John Eugene and Kathleen Melinda (Allee) Schindler. On September 23, 1962, he married the love of his life, Laura May (Proctor) Schindler. They were married for 58 years when she passed away earlier this year, on February 8th.

He was the owner of Schindler Electric in Brownsburg for over 20 years.

Bill was member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church in Indianapolis and current President of the Pike Township Lions Club.

Survivors include one sibling, Thomas Eugene; children, Julie Scharlau (Mike), John Schindler, Jr. (Teresa) and Eddie Schindler (Trina); grandchildren, Christopher (Krista), Jessica (Jason), Michelle, Zack, Megan, Ally, Justin, Alyssa and Alex Nicole (who preceded him in death); great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Braiden, Caleb, Delaney, Aubrey, and another girl on the way.

He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews as well as many life-long friends and numerous camping buddies.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. with a memorial service following at 1 p.m. at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield with Pastor Jon Pierson officiating.

He was also preceded in death by siblings Robert Carol Schindler and Patricia Jane Horrigan. VIOLET (McCloud) SMITH SEWARD

93, of Jacksonville Florida, passed away on August 27, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center South from complications of Covid-19.

She was born to James Allen and Lottie Dicks Mc- Cloud in Hendricks County, Indiana on March 7, 1927. She graduated from Danville High School and later received certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Natchitoches LA. She married Cecil Paul Smith of New Winchester, Indianaon December 31, 1945 (who passed in 1996) and Owen Seward of Owasso, Michigan in 1999 (who passed in 2010).

Survivors include four children. Karen Showalter of Winamac Indiana, John (Sandi) Smith of Summerfield, Florida, Brad (Vickie) Smith of Rockville, Maryland and Julie (Val) Draper of Jacksonville, Florida, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 7 siblings.

Arrangements will be provided by Baker Funeral Home as pandemic restrictions and family schedules allow.

ROBERT STEPHENSON

passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Community North Hospital.

He was born in Amo to Jack and Betty Imogene (Fisher) Stephenson on February 2, 1945. Bob was an auctioneer, realtor, and escorted wide load trucks.

Bob enjoyed working in the yard and working with his tractor and mower. He vacationed with his wife several times a year. Bob was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Plainfield. He loved cookouts and was quite a good cook.

Bob leaves behind his wife Elizabeth (Betsy) Stephenson, children Annette (Andy) Maier, Chuck (Kelly) Stephenson, Seth (Candy) Stephenson, Mike (Angie) Stephenson, Jack (Chelsea) Stephenson, Eric (Emily) Davis, Kristin Hudson, Daniel (Michelle) Davis, Jordan Hudson,; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Jerry Stephenson, Patty (Jack) Haymaker, Mike (Nancy) Stephenson, Peggy Galloway, Joe Stephenson.

His parents preceded him in death.

A Masonic Service took place Saturday, November 20, at Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville. Memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia Society.

DON BRUCE BEACHAM

75, of Brownsburg, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021.

Don was preceded in death earlier this year by his wife, Linda Burnicle Beacham.

He was born August 15, 1946 in Norfolk, Va. to Aldean Beacham and John L. Beacham, Jr. He began his career with the Federal Government working for the Department of the Navy at the Naval Station, Norfolk. Don retired after 26 years and he relocated to the Indianapolis area which was Linda’s home town.

Don enjoyed working with the school system as a monitor for the high school students. He also was an active member of the “Ben Davis High School Dad’s Organization” and was recognized by the Indianapolis City Council.

Don is survived by his daughter Lindsey, a sister Debbie Snyder of Virginia Beach, and a brother John L. Beacham III of North Carolina.

Services were Friday, November 19 at Life Church, Eagle Creek Campus. Burial was at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Lizton. Arrangements: Family Funeral Care - Rockville West.

JACQUELINE M. STONE

76, of Clayton, passed away November 21, 2021.

She was born on August 20, 1945 in Indianapolis to the late Joseph Harmeyer and Vera Groce Simmons. Jackie married Darrell Stone and he preceded her in death in 2018.

She worked in microfilm for FTE for over 13 years, before retiring.

Survivors include her son, Mark Everman (Lisa) of Camby; daughter, Lesa van de Sandt (Rick Houser) of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Matthew Hubner (Alyson), Jacob Carroll (Shelby), Kira Everman, Kayla Everman (Jeremy Bajpai), Haley Everman (Zachary Zeber), Mark Allen Everman II; 5 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Jane Benedict; and Jackie’s beloved dog, Wiley.

Her parents, husband and siblings, Nancy Berry and Larry Harmeyer preceded her in death.

BOBBY M. “BOB” MITCHELL

age 85, of Clayton, passed away on November 18, 2021 in I.U. West Hospital.

He was born on December 19, 1935 in Jasonville, Indiana to Robert and Mildred Foy Mitchell and was raised by his mother and his stepfather Bill Bohnert. He married Jane Moss on April 14, 1956 in Jasonville, Indiana; she survives.

He received his AB degree from Clark College maintaining a 4.1 GPA. Bob retired after 20 years of dedicated service from the United States Airforce and also worked as a labor market analyst for 22 years for the State of Indiana before retiring in 1998.

He was a member of the Plainfield American Legion post #329.

Private funeral services will be held in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. Burial with full Military rites will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years Jane Mitchell. Children: Lisa Via and LanceMitchell. Grandchildren: Tara Trivett (Daniel), Waylon Via (Brittany), Luke Via, Alexis Morgan (Chase). 14 greatgrandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and another one on the way.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Lori Lee Mitchell.

MARILYN E. HERRIS

age 78, of Brownsburg, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021. She was a resident at Sunrise on Old Meridian in Carmel, since January, 2020 while receiving care for Alzheimer’s disease.

Marilyn was born in Canton, Ohio, December 16, 1942 to the late Marion and Elva Krabill of Louisville, Ohio.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Larry; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Joan Krabill of Louisville, OH, Elvin and Connie Krabill of Tiskilwa, Ill; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Herris and Christy Herris of Carmel, Ind.; Keith and Melissa Herris of McKenzie, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Ryan, Sam, Noelle, Natalie and Nevaeh Herris.

Marilyn attended Louisville, Ohio public schools and graduated from Malone College in 1964. She was an Ohio elementary teacher for many years. Marilyn enjoyed her family, traveling, and snow birding in Sarasota, Fla. She was a member of Beech Mennonite Church in Louisville, Ohio and was active as a principal organist and pianist for the choir and congregation.

Marilyn and her husband moved from Canton, Ohio to Brownsburg, in 2013 to reside closer to family members. While in Brownsburg she attended Calvary United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir and played piano in many Saturday pm services.

Funeral services were Monday November 22, at Beech Mennonite Church in Louisville, Ohio. Burial was in the Beech Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. at www. alz.org

GARLAND KIRCHER

100, Brownsburg, passed away on November 13, 2021. He was a WWII Army Veteran.

Garland was an avid golfer and enjoyed breakfast with all his buddies.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Kircher.

Survivors include his children William (Diane) Kircher, Keith (Jill) Kircher, Julia (John) Magee; grandchildren Benjamin Magee, Daniel Magee; great-grandchild Greyson Keith Magee; and niece Barbara Fluro.

Services were Saturday, November 20, at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Burial was in Brownsburg Cemetery.

BRUCE A. MAXWELL

69, of Danville, passed away at Life’s Journey Hospice in Avon, early Monday morning, November 15, 2021. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021, in Danville Friends Church, with visitation there from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery at Plainfield, where Bruce will be laid to rest next to his parents, Albert “Wilson” and Lura L. (Hampton) Maxwell. The wearing of masks is recommended, but optional.

Bruce was born in Indianapolis on July 25, 1952. A birthright Quaker, he graduated from Olney Friends Boarding School in Barnesville, Ohio, with the class of 1970. He later received an associate degree in aircraft mechanics from Vincennes University in 1973. Bruce enjoyed his profession in aviation as an aircraft mechanic, as well as farming with his brother, David. He retired in 2019. Bruce was a member of Danville Friends Church.

Survivors include his brother, David A., his wife Carmen and their children, of Salem, Oregon, as well as several cousins and his “church family” at Danville Friends Church.

CONNIE JEANNETTE VINTON

87, of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2021. James, husband for 67 years and Vikki Epstein, daughter were with Connie. As per her wishes there will be no memorial services.

Connie was born May 22, 1934 in Kosciusko County, Indiana to Virgil Lamar Schannep and Frances Pence Schannep. Connie worked as a REALTOR for 30 years inIndianapolis, Plainfield and Mooresville Indiana.

Connie is survived by her husband James, daughter Vikki (Eddie) Scottsdale, Arizona; sister, Darlene, Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother Tim, Chicago, Illinois.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Frances Schannep, brothers Jerry, Wikky, Mark and Jimmy Joe.

Connie will be remembered for her caring and loving manner in which she treated others.

Internment will be in a reserved chamber for Connie within her Maternal Grandfather, J.K. Pence’s Mausoleum in South Whitely, Indiana.

KENNETH L. LUCAS

59, of Plainfield, passed away November 13, 2021. He was born September 26, 1962 in Speedway the son of Julian Leon and Annette (Riggs) Lucas.

Kenneth was a vending machine repairman for most of his life and he currently worked for Brewmaster. He also was involved with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a rescue/recovery team member for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father and son, Scott Lucas.

He is survived by his son, Billy Lucas, mother, Annette Lucas and longtime girlfriend, Deb Hoemann. Also a large host of friends and coworkers.

Funeral service was Saturday November 20, 2021, at Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity in memory of Kenneth.

DONNA GAIL SIMMONS

71, of Avon, passed away November 14, 2021.

She was born September 27, 1950 to the late Fred and Ruth (Benge) Schooler in Valley Creek, Tenn. She was a devoted employee of Indiana Bell and Ameritech, beginning her 30-year career as a mail clerk and working her way into leadership roles including Lead College Recruiter and Director. She retired in 1999 and started her own HR consulting business.

Donna joined Westview Baptist Church in 1959 and remained a faithful member until her death. During that time, she served as pianist, youth director, teacher, and was licensed to minister of the American Baptist Churches of Greater Indianapolis.

Donna loved a beautifully landscaped lawn and had impeccable taste and loved decorating her home. Christmas was her favorite. She collected snowmen, had an impressive snowman ornament collection and proudly displayed them for all to enjoy.

Donna loved spending time with her friends, family, and three grandchildren. Everyone she met was drawn to her. With a spiritual gift of encouragement, she inspired others to reach their full potential by challenging, comforting and guiding them to grow.

Donna is survived by a son, Nick A. (Melinda) Simmons; a daughter, Angela R. (James) Kreitzer; a brother, Rick (Cindy) Schooler; a sister, Joan E. (Roger) Ridenour; and three grandchildren, Drew and Aubrey Kreitzer and Kaylin Simmons.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 18,in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 19,in the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.

ROBERT L. McCURRY

78, Brownsburg, passed away on November 21, 2021.

He was a member of the Indianapolis Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Faye McCurry.

Survivors include his wife Barbara McCurry; son Brian McCurry; brothers William McCurry, Michael McCurry, Stephen McCurry; sister Millicent Stiefler; grandchildren Patrick, Liam, Maeve, and Maura McCurry.

Visitation will be from 4 pm to 6 p.m., Friday, December 3 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with memorial services there at 6 p.m.
