WILLIAM A. VanNICE
went home to be with our Lord on August 06, 2021.

He was born on October 01, 1940 in Greencastle, the son of the late Carl and Genevive (McCammack) VanNice. Bill was a graduate of Amo High School and a lifelong farmer in Hendricks County. He enjoyed working with horses, mules and square dancing. He and his wife, Sandra Sue (Wise) VanNice were married for 50 years and she preceded him in death in 2018.
Bill was a member of the Clayton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his brother-in-law, Paul Steven Wise (Brenda); sister-in-law, Ella Walton (Ted); and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Sugar Grove Assisted Living, Grace at Home, and Brookdale Hospice for their compassionate care for Bill.

DORIS ERNA (Wagner) HECHINGER
81, of Marthinsville, passed away August 6. 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson’s and dementia.
She was born January 4, 1940 in Obercunnersdorf, Germany. At age 20, she fled communist East Germany via West Berlin, married Lt. Hechinger in Wurzburg, Germany in 1964, and became a US citizen in 1989.
She worked as a sales associate at JC Penney in Greenwood for 10 years retiring in 2008.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading and traveling, especially in her RV to Alaska.
Doris is survived by her husband, Gerald (Jerry) Hechinger, Carmen (Roland) Naak (daughter), Harold (Barbara) Hechinger (son), Christina (Tim) Smith (daughter), and Stefanie (Kipp) Cain (daughter); Ingrid Merder (sister), Frank Wagner (brother), Winfred Konrad (brother), 3 granddaughters, Samantha, Justine and Nicole; and Sandro, Enrico (grandson) two (great-granddaughters), Lara and Kassandra, and a great-grandson (Luca) in Germany.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time. Contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
HOWARD GLENN MARTIN
86, of Brownsburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021.
Howard was born June 9, 1935 in Portland, Tennessee the son of the late Ira and Ollie Mae Martin. He retired from data processing after working for Allison and EDS.
Howard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janice Martin; son, John (Andrea) Martin; sister, Jean Eden; and 4 grandchildren: Timothy and Sylvia Martin and Ryan and Haven Rivard.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, William, James, George, Robert, Richard and Martha Martin.
Services for Howard took place Monday, August 2, at Family Funeral Care, Indianapolis. Burial folloed at Brownsburg Cemetery with Military Honors.
PAUL KENNETH BUCK
76, Concord, N.C., formerly of Indianapolis, St. Louis, Mo. and St. Cloud, Fla. passed away peacefully on August 4, 2021.
He was the fourth child born in his family on April 14, 1945 to his parents Harold and Alice Buck. He graduated from Tech High School in 1964 and was drafted into the Army in October of 1965. Paul served in Vietnam from May, 1966 to June, 1967 and was honorably discharged in October, 1967. He authored a book entitled “I Tried to Speak.”
Paul hired on with TWA in October, 1967 then worked with American Airlines until his retirement in 2010.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Linda Toney Buck, his parents Harold and Alice Buck, and two brothers Tom and Brad Buck.
Paul leaves behind two sons, Jason (Amanda), Adam (Hilary), grandchildren Abigail, McKayla, Cecilia and Landon, brother Luke Buck and a sister Sally Baughman.
Graveside services took place Monday, August 9 at the Brownsburg Cemetery. Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg was entrusted with the arrangements.

OLA M. GREEN
89, of Plainfield, passed away on August 4, 2021.
She was born in Somerset, Ky. on November 6, 1931 to the late Alton and Evelyn Bates.
Ola held various jobs over the years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and dedicated homemaker. Ola enjoyed sewing, baking and doing crossword puzzles. She loved going to church and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Avon.
Ola was preceded in death by her husband, Verlin Green. Arrangements are pending with entombment in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, Ind.
Survivors include her sons, Richard (Carlene), Robert (Magi) and Raymond (Susie) Russell; daughters, Marie Melton and Karen (Mark) Speece; brothers, Carl (Lois), Robert and Richard (Charlene) Bates; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 12, at noon in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may visit from 10 a.m. until service time. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
HERTIS A. HANSELL
age 91, Fillmore, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021 at home and surrounded by his family.
He was born at home in Putman County, Greencastle Township on December 30, 1929. the son of Jonathon Maynard and Veneta Pursell Hansell.
He was married to Dorothy June Kelley Hansell and she preceded him on July 23, 2013. He graduated from Fillmore High School in 1947
He worked in the auto industry and retired after 30 years with the Chrysler Corporation as an engine block pattern maker.
He loved playing euchre and listening to bluegrass music.
He is survived by his son, David A. Hansell and wife, Sherry, Fillmore; granddaughter, Duston Rae Spencer and husband, Ron, Fillmore; and a great-granddaughter, Bronwyn Paige Spencer, Fillmore.
He was preceded by his parents, wife, son, Ray Hansell, a grandson, David J Hansell; and sister, Irene.
Cremation was chosen and there will be no services at this time. Arrangements: Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville.
MATTHEW PATRICK BEESON
43, passed away unexpectedly July 31, 2021, at his home in Pittsboro. He was born March 17, 1978, in Lebanon, Indiana, a son of Marilyn J. (Smith) Richardson and the late John B. “Johnny B” Beeson.
On July 10, 1999, he was married to Melissa (Thompson) Beeson in Advance, Indiana. Together, they had two sons, later divorced and she survives. He was engaged to Lindsey (Figg) Rhorer; and have been together since 2014. They shared seven loving years together and he was like a father to her children, Emryk and Maci Rhorer.
Matt was a 1996 graduate of Western Boone Jr. Sr. High School and had attended the College of Oceaneering in Wilmington, California. Following school, he served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Matt worked as a commercial diver for several years.
He was a member of the Boone Masonic Lodge # 9 F & AM in Lebanon. Matt loved shooting sports, scuba diving, woodworking, and working on cars. He loved life and enjoyed spending time with his boys. He never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation with anyone. Matt was a great friend to all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his sons, Alec Beeson of Advance and Aiden Beeson of Crawfordsville; fiancée, Lindsey Rhorer of Pittsboro; mother, Marilyn Ritchardson of Advance; sisters, Mandy Abney (Brad Rogers) of Brazil, Misty and Dave Herrington of Crawfordsville, Kristy and Matt Busenbarrick of Lebanon, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his father, Matt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John & Frances Beeson; and his maternal grandparents, Frances & Ermine, Jr. Smith.
Masonic services took place Friday, August 6, at the North Salem Christian Church, with funeral services there on Saturday, August 7, with Pastor Rob Baire officiating. Interment with military rites followed services at Fairview Cemetery in North Salem.
Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with his arrangements.
PAULA M. CORDER
74, Williams, Ind., formerly of Brownsburg, passed away August 5, 2021.
Paula had been an inspector for Link Belt for many years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty McHugh Merriman.
Survivors include her husband, William McKnight; sister, Bonnie Jackson; stepchildren, Shannon McKnight, Anthony West, Carey McKnight, Kimberly Adams, Allison McKnight; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces Tori Kincaid and Robbi Kinser.
Graveside services took place Wednesday, August 11, at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis. Arrangements: Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg.
ROSELLA MARIE RODGERS
82, of Danville, passed away August 1, 2021.
She was born February 18, 1939 in Indianapolis the daughter of Henry and Sylvia Kelley.
Mrs. Rodgers was a CPA for Balkamp Corporation for 45 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, husband Howard E. Rodgers and granddaughter, Ashley Biggs.
She is survived by two daughters, Angela Snider and her husband Mark, Marie Underwood and her husband Bill, sister Norma Spencer, grandchildren, Shelina Wirey, Michelle Snider, Jessica Spears, Regina Lawson, William Underwood and 8 great grandchildren.

ANGELA “ANGIE” ROSS-LIPPARD
49, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 7, 2021.
She was born on November 23, 1971 in Danville to Earl and Mildred Ross. Angela was a cosmetologist for 25 years. She was a member of the Lynhurst Baptist Church and the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Angela enjoyed cutting hair, cooking, motorcycle rides, shopping and going to the Indianapolis 500.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Ross; brother, Larry Ross.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 14, at 1 p.m. in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home where friends may visit from 11 a.m .until time of service.
Survivors include her mother, Mildred Ross; son, Adam Lippard; daughters, Amber (Robbie) Lippard-Garrett and Autumn Lippard; brother, Lee (Betty) Ross Jr.; sister, Lori (Jim) Scott.
LUANA “LU” CAROLYN (Spencer) SENTER
92, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of July 31, 2021, at Cumberland Trace Senior Living in Plainfield..
Lu was born in Indianapolis to Glynn and Lena Spencer on August 30, 1928. Growing up on the southside of Indianapolis, she graduated from Southport High School in 1946.
Lu was mostly a homemaker but did have several jobs over the years. She met the love of her life, Wayne Senter, while working as a secretary for Central Rubber and Supply. They were married on June 29, 1951, at Southport Presbyterian Church.
In 1955 they settled on the westside of Indianapolis in the Eagledale subdivision. Wayne and Lu became active at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir for many years. Lu worked for L.S. Ayres and William H. Block Department Stores as well as Winona Hospital.
Luana was an avid “fabricologist” that specialized in sewing, knitting, quilting and crocheting. In 1977 she opened the Yarn ‘n Needle Depot on W. 34th Street near Georgetown Road and operated that for about five years.
Lu was also a Girl Scout leader and loved taking her troops to Camp Gallahue on the westside of Indianapolis.
In the late 60s Lu joined the Capital City Chorus of the Sweet Adelines Inc. and was a member for 45-years.
Later in life Lu was a member of the choir at Speedway Christian Church and still heavily involved in quilting making several in her later years.
Luana is preceded in death by husband Wayne; her parents Glynn and Lena Spencer; brother Barton Spencer; sisters Doris Ragsdale and Arleen Kolb; son-in-law Brian Martin.
Services were Saturday, August 7, at Flanner-Buchanan - Speedway, with burial in West Ridge Cemetery.
LLOYD EVERETT HOPKINS
(also endearingly known as Hop or Hoppy), 90, of Brownsburg, peacefully passed away on August 6, 2021, at home, with family.
Lloyd was born on March 3,1931 to Raymond Leslie and Lottie Edith (Page) Hopkins at his parent’s farmhouse in Barnard, Ind.. He graduated from North Salem High School in 1948.
At age 17, he began working at Plastene Corporation and in those early years during slow periods he sold Bibles door-to-door. He continued to work for Plastene for more than 45 years. iUpon retirement he worked part-time for several years at Schloot Furniture for social engagement rather than a paycheck.
On December 12, 1966, he married the love of his life, Betty Ann Pruett Adkins; she survives. They built a life and united a family together in Crawfordsville.
He is survived by four children, a son, Kerry Joseph Hopkins (Cindy Stephens) and daughter, Pamela Joy Stevenson (Jack) both from a previous marriage; daughters Lana Michelle Ebaugh (Mike) and Elizabeth (Beth) Annette Hopkins (Jeffery Bartelson). He has 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Marion (Carolyn) Hopkins of Maine.
He was a member of Connection Pointe Christian Church, Brownsburg, and founding member of New Hope Christian Church, Crawfordsville.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, his great grandchild, Holden David High.
Services were Tuesday, August 10, at Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg.. Following the service, Lloyd was laid to rest in the Roachdale Cemetery.

MARJORIE A. DOUGLAS CRIPE
89, Brownsburg, passed away August 4, 2021.
She was preceded in death by husband Paul Douglas, son Stephen E. Douglas; brothers Herbert Newport and Victor Newport, and sister Betty Stanz.
A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughter Peggy Turner (husband Gary); brother Forest Newport (wife Charlotte); 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.
Services were Monday August 9, at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Burial followed at Brownsburg Cemetery.

WAYNE FERGUSON
age 95, of Plainfield, passed away on August 9, 2021 in Hendricks Regional Health in Danville.
He was born on August 7, 1926, in North Salem, to the late Harrison and Mable Sylvia Morphew Ferguson. He married Mary Louise “Mary Lou” Gentry on May 3, 1953 in Hazelwood, Indiana; she preceded him in death in 2017.
He was a member of the Clayton Christian Church. Wayne was an US Army Veteran of WWII and an US Navy Veteran of the Korean War.
He worked for 28 years as a machinist for Westinghouse Airbrake and at J.D. Adams Co. retiring in 1983.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 12, at 1 p.m. in Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield. Burial with Military rites will follow in Clayton Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda Lasiter, Marsha (Dwayne) Lundy; grandchildren, Sara Lasiter Petty, Colin Lasiter; several nieces, nephews, cousins, cherished friends and his beloved dog, Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Meredith Brock, Helen Trent and Milton Ferguson.

DIANNE P. CLARK
61, of Brownsburg, passed away on July 22, 2021.
Dianne was born in Indianapolis, on November 3, 1959 to Richard Lee and Clara Bell (Goad) Bee. She loved animals, gardening, and flowers, a passion she got to apply to her career delivering flowers for Gillespie Florists.
She was a member of The American Legion and The Eagles, and she was a former secretary for the motorcycling organizations, ABATE and The Legion Riders.
Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Clara Bee.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Stadler; her grandchildren, Clara Stadler and Leo Stadler; and her siblings, Richard Bee Jr., Sandi Cramer, Tina Marie Williams, and Sherry Augenstein.
