The Danville Tri Kappa Beta Associate Chapter recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary at the Danville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Twenty members attended including three Charter members: Sandra Pierson from Florida, plus Joyce Corbitt and Marty Davis of Danville. Pat Vandivier was unable to attend. Also joining us was Jane Land, originally from Danville and now residing in Brown County, the former Province V Officer who installed the chapter.

Tables were set with white tablecloths and black napkins wrapped with Tri Kappa ribbon and a beautiful centerpiece incorporating white carnations, the Tri Kappa flower.

Each member was given a favor box with chocolates representing the objectives (charity, culture, and education) and symbols of Tri Kappa as well as a booklet with the 50- year history of the Beta Associate Chapter.

Scrapbooks and Meeting Minutes from 1971 to present were available for viewing along with some Tri Kappa memorabilia.

Refreshments from Marsha’s Specialty Desserts & Catering in Avon included tea sandwiches, pinwheels, fruit and veggie trays, cheese and crackers. In addition, cake and Tri Kappa Butterscotch Cookies were served.

The first in-person meeting since October 2019 was held in May 2021 at the Library. The chapter was able to make all budgeted donations and still give two $1000 scholarships thanks to its hard working members.
