EDWARD ALLEN SIN-

GLETON, 68 of Plainfield, lost his battle with cancer on March 19, 2022.

Despite the trials and tribulations that life had handed him over the past three years, he fought until the end. He even traveled with his loving spouse to their favorite vacation spot in North Carolina in his last year. They enjoyed road trips throughout their lives, traveling together from the East Coast to the Rocky Mountains frequently. While he enjoyed cars, motorcycles, and playing golf, one of his favorite hobbies was trying new foods. He was a true food connoisseur, but one that sought complex flavors and new tastes in the hole-in-the-wall local dives over fine dining establishments. This took him to some very interesting places, and he frequently brought his family along for the ride.

Edward was born on September 16, 1953, in Indianapolis to the late Audrey Lucille (Allen) and Carl Edward Singleton, Jr. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Debra S. Randall, on October 22, 1977; they celebrated 43 years of marriage together. Edward and his wife supported each other through thick and thin, while raising their three children. There was no topic that he was not interested in, and his adventurous spirit and quizzical mind was passed on to his children. He loved listening to other’s life experiences and witnessing their journeys. He never met a stranger.

Edward was a carpenter for over 40 years and built residential houses all over central Indiana, as well as several churches. He was a dedicated and loyal person. When it came to work, he was honest and fair. With his friends and family, he was loyal and giving. Ed was always there for people when needed.

Survivors include his wife, Debra S. Singleton; children, Ryan Singleton (Necia), Courtney Singleton, and Nathan Singleton (Amber); siblings, Judy Jeffries and Joseph Singleton (Jackie); and three grandchildren, Madelynn, Grayson, and Zenley.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. prior to the service in the funeral home. You are also invited to watch the service via live stream on the Hall-Baker Funeral Home Facebook page. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 5635 W 96th St STE 100 Indianapolis, IN 46278.
