Collecting Funds

If you plan to collect funds in a public place, such as on the street, you will need to obtain a license from the local authority. It is illegal to do so without the necessary licenses. To collect funds on private property that is visited by members of the public, such as a shopping centre or station, you will need the owners permission and abide by their regulations

Raffles and Lotteries

If you plan to raise funds by running a raffle or starting a lottery, you will need a lottery license from your local council. Please contact your local council for more information on the licenses required in your area.

Other Considerations

It is your responsibility to make sure your event is run safely. Your event venue will be able to give you further advice on specific requirements. Helping Rhinos does not accept any responsibility for your event or anyone participating in it. Please consider what insurance cover you may need for your event and ensure you have the appropriate policies in place. You may need a special license for your event, for example if you are serving alcohol or playing music. When promoting your fundraiser, you should state that you are raising funds 'in aid of Helping Rhinos' and NOT 'on behalf of Helping Rhinos' or any other similar wording
