PRIORITISINGHUMANRIGHTS
Help for Heroes Trading are committed to the identification and prevention of any risks to the human rights of workers within the businessand supplychain.
In following the base code of the Ethical Trading Initiative, we ensurethat regular checks are conducted and reviewed at sites manufacturing our products to ensure workers are treated fairly, that their human rights are respected and supplierscomply with all relevant legislation. This is 'Tier 1' transparency.
Our next step will be investigating 'Tier 2' (raw materials etc) for our key suppliers.

IDENTIFYINGSALIENTRISKS
The Covid-19pandemic has placed huge pressures on Health and Safety, reducedthe job security in many regions, and hit vulnerable groups of workers very hard. Many regions have seen political upheavals and natural disasters increasing the issue of refugees and migrants in many surrounding countries and beyond. This makes it much more difficultto identify and defend the human rights of hidden, trafficked and abused migrants who are being employed in the casual unregulated labour markets around the globe.

OURSUPPLYCHAINS
84% of our revenue comes from products sourced from Bangladesh, Turkey and the UK
In 2022 we sourced products from 8 countries, working with 29 product suppliers. These products include apparel, accessories, homewares and gifts. Our top four countries were Bangladesh, Turkey, the UK and China which accounted for products making 97% of our revenue. All of these have their own risks associated highlighted.
Where products are imported and finished in the UK we ensure that products and supply chains meet the standards of the ETI’s base code and suppliers have ethical policies and practices in place.

TRADEUNIONRIGHTS,RESPECTFORFREEDOMOF ASSOCIATIONANDCOLLECTIVEBARGAINING
As a member of the ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative), Help for Heroes Trading fully support and are committed to the base code standard allowing for freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining to be respected by employers and governments. Through the review of factory audits we seek to ensure that freely elected worker representatives or trade unions always participate in the audit process.
Help for Heroes does not collectively bargain on employee terms and conditions of employment as we do not formally recognise a Trade Union. However, all employees do have a statutory right to have a trade union representative with them during certain meetings. This is regardless of whether they're members of a recognised trade union or not. We informally consult with all employees on contractual changes and ways of working.
