It is a no–frill carrier. They were able to cut cost by operating a no–frill carrier i.e. they don't use tickets or travel agents. Focus Porter's focus strategy is a mix of both the differentiation and the cost leadership strategies i.e. difference or cost leadership within a small target market segment. For instance: a company should be able to differentiate its products based on a particular target market segment because if the differences in products does not appeal to consumers in that target market as opposed to consumers in broad market, there would be no basis for differentiation and competitive advantage will not have been achieved. For my topic, I chose Walt Disney World. Disney is a publicly traded company worldwide. There are seven locations spread out over the globe located in California, Hawaii, Florida, China, Japan, France, and Hong Kong. The first Disney location was opened in Anaheim, California on July 17, 1955. It covers 85 acres of land. Today, Disney is worth about $166.47 billion. Since their first original park opening in 1955, their business has sky rocketed over the years. Disney is the number one family vacation destination globally. People come from all over the world to see the Walt Disney World Resort, located in Orlando, Florida. This is their largest location, where in total the parks take up about 1,100 acres of land. The company owns a total of 30,000 acres in their Orlando location. The Walt DisneyCompany has increased in the stock market over the years and I believe it will continue to in the future. The net worth of the Disney Company is $103.96 billion. I believe the Walt Disney Company will continue to do well in the stock market because of their theme parks and resorts, media and entertainment, and their constant and updated innovations.
The Walt Disney World Resort located in Orlando, Florida is the most popular Disney theme park out of the seven locations. With it being the largest, it contains four different theme parks. The theme parks areMagic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Epcot (Johnson, Madeline). There are also two water parks which are Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Disney Springs is also a part of Disney World, which is known for their shopping and dining. This leaves plenty of options for guests to pick and plan their perfect vacation with various options. Each park has its own special themes within themselves. For example, there are four different sections just within the Magic Kingdom. There is Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, and Frontierland. Along with the several theme parks, there are thirty resort hotels on Disney property. The hotels are organized by themes, styles, and prices. For example, there are value, moderate, deluxe, and deluxe villas options when choosing a hotel.
