Feeling groovy? Well, April’s your chance to get down and disco in Durbs. Get into the groove for the 29th of April’s 80s disco tennis groove at The Barn Owl Mitchell’s Park Tennis Club. The event starts at 06:30 that morning and social tennis courts will be available from 07:30. It costs R25 per person for 30 minutes. Bookings can be made via tennisclub@thebarnowl.co.za and you will need to bring your own gear. Of course, breakfast and coffee at The Barn Owl afterwards is a given.

Named after Irishman John Burne, Burnedale Farm & Nursery is a farm turned venue where guests can get creative, shop for unique items, enjoy a lovely meal and where kids can have endless amounts of fun. Be sure to visit the farm yard, have the kids explore the jungle gyms, or have them rally up some friends to play hide and seek. There is even a brand-new boutique at Burnedale, called NIXZ, specialising in locally manufactured women’s clothes. Established in 1896, Fig Tree Farm is one of the original farmsteads from when Hillcrest was founded as a stopover between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. It’s the ideal gathering place for families and foodies. Apart from the fact that it has a family-friendly restaurant, Fig Tree Farm also offers lovely, hand-curated trails for hikers, runners and nature lovers alike.
