The Independent Record advertising department makes every effort to avoid errors in advertisements by proofreading all copy. Still, errors can happen. Please check your ad the first time it appears. If you find an error, call us at 1.401.277.7700 or 1.800.540.7730 before 1 p.m. so we can correct your ad for the next day. The Publisher shall not be liable for an amount greater than the cost of the ad or that portion of the ad in which the error occurred.

Please e-mail ad copy, layout instructions and/or camera-ready art directly to your sales consultant.

Acceptable file formats:

• Preferred file should be a PDF (Mac or PC) with embedded fonts using Adobe Acrobat Distiller • EPS (with fonts encapsulated) (MAC or PC) • Quark & InDesign native format should be supplied with supporting images and fonts for PC compatibility • Adobe Illustrator EPS, with fonts saved as an outline • Ad copy in Microsoft Word is accepted, however, Microsoft Publisher is not supported. • Please make sure items such as black text are set to overprint

Image specifications:

• Use only TIFF or EPS • Low resolution JPEG, PNG, or GIF file formats are not acceptable • Scanned images must be at least 200 dpi • All color must be CMYK (convert all Pantone, RGB, Lab and Indexed Color to CMYK) • EPS files must be saved with a preview and binary encoding

Calculating Rates

Ad rates are based on column inches. To figure out the size of an ad, first determine how many columns wide the ad will be. Then determine the height of the ad in inches. Multiply the number of columns by the height in inches, example: 2 columns by 5 inches equals 10 column inch. The cost of your ad is determined by multiplying the total. 10 x $21.44 [open daily rate] = $214.40
