Former Hebburn and current Seaham keeper Andrew Jennison is set to miss several upcoming fixtures, allowing Bateman to get game time in the league below.

Bateman joins Dylan Archer (Sunderland West End), Daniel Field (Tow Law Town) and Kieran Hunter (Chester-le-Street Town) in signing for a Northern League outfit on a dual registration deal. The move enables players to earn match experience elsewhere, while still being available to train and play for Hebburn.

In other squad news, leftback Kieran Charlton is set to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury picked up in training. The club sends our best wishes to Kieran in his recovery and hope to see him on the pitch soon.

Jack Donaghy and Will McCamley are set to return from their long-term injuries over the next month.

Ex-Shildon striker Amar

Purewal scored a late winner at his former home on Tuesday night.

The Hebburn squad included almost 1,000 Shildon appearances between them - with manager Daniel Moore playing over 500 times at The Railwaymen.

Moore’s side started well as Liam Murray controlled a high ball before pinging a shot into Sunderland loanee Harrison Bond from range. However, the rest of the first half was all Shildon.

Shaun Newbrook, who played over 100 games for Shildon, saved efforts from the likes of Jon Weirs, Chay Liddle and Aidan Heywood. Sean Reid also kept Hebburn in it, with a diving header as Ben Dibb-Fuller tried to chip into an empty net. Shildon broke the deadlock on 48 minutes through a Billy Greulich-Smith penalty after Newbrook committed a foul.

Greulich-Smith would go onto net another after the hour, but the linesman had his flag up for the home side. The introduction of James Harrison sparked life into The Hornets, and the winger’s driven cross on 66 minutes was turned into the Shildon net by their own captain Heywood. With 76 on the clock, Purewal got the winner as the forward got on the end of Joe Walton's lofted pass and smashed an effort past Bond at a tight angle.
