February means back to reality
by Health2000
This time of the year is often stressful and busy. The holiday period is over, kids are back to school and work is back to full time.
Stress is one of the risk factors for developing several mental and physical disorders. Aromatherapy can help support the body in many ways to manage the stress within your daily routines.

How does aromatherapy help support with stress?
Aromatherapy has an immediate impact on your sense of smell, also known as olfaction. When essential oils are inhaled, olfactory receptor cells in your nose are stimulated and the impulse is transmitted to the emotional centre of your brain, or limbic system. The limbic system is connected to areas of your brain linked to clarity and focus, breathing, blood circulation, as well as your endocrine glands which support hormone levels in your body and importantly your stress response. The properties of the oil, and the fragrance support the response of these systems.
