Introduction Welcome to the first issue of CPD@TheBSB Journal, The intention of this quarterly journal is to allow all staff insight and participation into school-wide professional development, to encourage collaboration and sharing of outcomes for the benefit of further school wide implementation/trials of concepts, promote new learning, strategies and share professional experiences and encourage collaboration. Despite the negatives associated with this academic year, there are a number of positives which have arisen in regard to changing the world of professional development, notably in its accessibility. Teachers no longer have to travel for poor tea and coffee, curled up buffets and awkward conversations but can be enriched from their very own comfortable environment. It is intended that as the journal grows organically with spotlights on departments, staff and external entries, a host of teachers and leaders feel enthused to collaborate, review and share the expertise which BSB teachers are recognised for. We invite you to take the opportunity to be part of the movement. The current collaborators are looking to the school-wide community to contribute, lead, share and develop the journal. Whether it be submitting an article, promoting a live webinar you wish to lead, ask or answer a community question, create a focus for departments of subjects and interests; all your contributions are welcome. Out of bravery, comes new ideas. The notion of professionals across school phases collaborating to write an article, developing a short term study or those skilled quieter (and louder!) members of our school community is exciting. The CPD@BSB Journal is to be a product of the community. Its reflective, exploratory and forward thinking articles and means of sharing these will enable its development and growth. Enjoy this first issue, it has been a pleasure to be part of its foundation and we look forward to the school community embracing, collaborating, evaluating and learning together. With grateful thanks to the admin team for their assistance in developing the journal and those professionals in our community who have shared articles for this first edition.
