hen we entered 2021, we were hopeful that the COVID-19 pandemic would soon come to an end. However, even with vaccines being available, for millions of Indians, the pandemic was far from over. The second wave of COVID-19 is nothing short of a nightmare for the citizens of the country. Gaming to the rescue Despite the bleak nature of the situation, the highlight was the humanity and kindness of people during these times. NGOs such as the Hemkunt Foundation, Give India, Breathe India, and many more have taken the initiative to help during this time of need. Joining them in their fight against the COVID-19 was the gaming industry in India. Putting their best foot forward 26

and assisting the situation, many gaming companies like OpraahFx, Krafton, Trinity Gaming, MPL Esports, Stick Pool Club and more have done their part in providing aid or hosting charity events. In a time when in-person gathering poses a danger to the health and safety of people, holding a regular charity event is not the best idea. Online being the only way to safely communicate and interact, many NGOs resorted to holding charity functions online.
