Lego Culture
Creating a Lego mosaic of Bling Bling Boy bridges the gap between two staples in my childhood. Bringing together the imaginary character and the tangible use of Legos reinvigorates the creative flame that many of us lose as we grow out of childhood.

Taking inspiration from popular fictional characters such as “Bling Bing Boy” created by Scott Fellows for the show Johnny Test, provides viewers with a sense of familiarity in the work. While my ideas are often abstract, their is often as sense of comfort and nostalgia.
By altering the original image, new creative directions are often born in my work. Creating different perspectives allows the mind to find new paths or reinvent already established art.

Taking influence from popular pop-culture art and styles. Redefining it in a way to keep original works familiarity. But to inspire creativity and new perspectives. Using already created and well established work by Daniel Arsham for the rapper Gunna’s DS4EVER album provides and excellent blueprint for my creativity and vision to use as a stepping stool.
