Bark in the Park Q&A with Main Street Winter Haven HAVEN: How much are tickets to Bark in the Park? MAIN STREET: This is a FREE community event!

Winter Haven is going to the dogs this month! Bark in the Park, hosted by Main Street Winter Haven, will be held in Downtown Winter Haven’s Central Park on May 6, 2022, from 5:30–8:30 pm. We reached out to Main Street Winter Haven to get the scoop on this FREE tail-wag-worthy event!

HAVEN: Are there any fundraisers to support animals? Tell me about them – how can folks donate or help? Where do the proceeds go? MAIN STREET: We invite local animal rescues to bring their adoptable dogs, and each year our hearts are full when we see them finding their furrever homes. A few of those organizations are the Humane Society of Polk County, Crossed Paws Pet Rescue, and From the Heart Rescue.

HAVEN: How long have you been hosting Bark in the Park? MAIN STREET: This will be our 16th year celebrating our favorite four-legged friends! HAVEN: How many people attend each year? MAIN STREET: This event is a fan favorite – each year, we see about 3,000-4,000 visitors.

HAVEN: Give us all the deets on the Wiener Dog race. When and where will it be held? And how can folks enter their dogs? MAIN STREET: Arguably the most exciting part of Bark in the Park, the Wiener Dog race is an annual tradition to find the “Fastest Wiener in Town.” The race will begin at 7 pm in our demonstration area, and folks can pre-register online or register at the Main Street Winter Haven tent at the event! HAVEN: Can I bring my dog? MAIN STREET: We encourage it! HAVEN: What activities are there to look forward to? MAIN STREET: Bark in the Park attendees can enjoy an evening stroll to shop for pet items such as collars, leashes, and organic dog treats. The park will be full of vendors offering services like free nail trims, information about lodging, obedience training, grooming… the whole nine yards! Attendees will be able to interact with the different demonstrations, like dog yoga, a visit from the Winter Haven Police Department K-9 crew, and a few other surprises!

HAVEN: Where can people find more information about Bark in the Park? MAIN STREET: To keep up to date with Bark in the Park, you can follow Main Street Winter Haven on Facebook and check the Bark in the Park event page for updates!

HAVEN: Will there be food and drinks? MAIN STREET: We will have food trucks (including Chubby Wubby’s hot dogs…of course) and Pelican’s Snoballs, who are bringing snoballs for both humans and our pups!
