Editor’s Letter Welcome to our first holiday issue. The holidays are always filled with an array of emotions...joy, love, happiness, guilt, stress. You name it and it’s in the air. It’s also the only time of year adults are allowed to feel childlike...believing and wishing for special gifts. This issue I threw down a challenge not to exceed 75 pages. It was looking a little bleek there, but my wish came true. All of the previous issues have been huge and this one could have easily been just as big if not bigger. But I kept saying the same buzz word, “mini.” I like to believe that’s how my wish came true. Will that be a continuing theme in the future? I don’t know. There are so many amazing gift options with literally something for everyone. I like to give people things I believe they would never buy for themselves, but fit their personality perfectly. I have a weird holiday shopping ritual...research and power shop on December 23rd. I know it’s insane, but it’s very fun and a good way to stay focused. In the course of prepping this issue, I started with a possible cover idea and theme. But something happened along the way to production. I knew I wanted an ornament on the cover, but which one? While browsing a Neimans catalog, I spotted these beautiful coasters by Rab Labs. I visited their website

and quickly fell for their ornaments. And a cover was born. The theme was a lot easier. A few years back, my parents asked me for a gift wish list. They said this would make it a lot easier to shop for me. So being the obedient daughter that I am, I did it, complete with pictures to eliminate any confusion. I put everything I could think of on the list... Chanel No5 parfum, Hermes Birkin, Chloe Marcie, YSL/Saint Laurent Paris Tribute sandals, makeup, black pumps, nail lacquer, the Chanel book set by Assouline, a trip to Paris, and socks. I’d like to say I got everything on the list, but as my mother said, “It’s a reference for all future gifts.” Which means there’s still hope for that Birkin. I think this year I might add a puppy. Maybe a Yorkie, Shih Tzu or a Chinese Crested. I hope you get everything you wish for. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us at Haute Pink.

Co-Co- decided that he was happy as a bear, but short of being complete. Suddenly the man looked at him, Co-Co didn't move. Co-Co was so excited. No one had looked at him this way in a long time. The man said, "Yes, and I'll take him

There was once a bear named Co-Co. He once sat in a candy store. Every year the candy store would put him on display in front of the store so patrons might admire him. He loved the attention, however, he wanted a family of his own. He watched through the window as happy children and parents walked happily through the mall during this wonderful time of the year. The more Co-Co watched, the more he longed to be part of someone’s family. Then one day, a gentleman walked into the store. This person looked familiar to Co-Co. "Sure", said Co-Co, "I remember this man from last week. He bought a few chocolate covered apples. Oh, how I wish I were an apple, and he would buy me!" Co-Co thought to himself and said, "My fun would only last for a short time as an apple, because I would eventually be eaten!". 56 HAUTE PINK

She was so excited to see him and gave him squeezes and hugs. Co-Co was sat up on the bed to watch TV, and live the good life. Finally, Christmas was here. Co-Co was so thankful for his new family, he wanted to give his new family the love that he had been given. So, the night before Christmas, Co-Co, walked down the stairs of the house. It took him a little time, cause his legs were so short. Eventually he made it down to the family room. He was in awe of the giant Christmas tree. The lights were blinking, and the room was lit with warmth and love. Co-Co sat in front of the tree and thought about all his friends who were still in boxes at the store, who might never look upon a tree like this one, or have a Christmas. So, he said a little prayer. He had heard the family pray regularly and knew exactly what to say.
Dear Lord, Thank you for my life. Thank you for the love in my heart. Thank you for my family. Thank you I’m alive to experience this season with you and my new family. I pray for my friends still at the stores that they will not loose hope, but will have a family who loves them like my family loves me. I pray for their safety that they will remain in your care. Co-Co then walked back up the stairs
and took his place in the bedroom. The next day, the family heard some extraordinary news on television. A wealthy Millionaire who likes to spread Christmas love and cheer to the needy bought up all the bears in Co-Co's old store. Every bear from that store will now have a home. Co-Co's family was happy, smiling from ear to ear. They both hugged Co-Co and said, "We have all the love we need right here, right Co-Co!?". Co-Co was so touched he said to himself, with tearful eyes, Yes.
