PU ADHESIVE FOAM Description

Attention

Akfix 960 is a one component aerosol polyurethane adhesive foam curing swiftly with moisture. Providing very fast and powerful adhesion for various construction materials, especially highly recommended for heat insulation systems.

Temperature at the application ideally should be between 0 °C and 40 °C. Non-adhesive to PE, PP, and Teflon. Fresh foam should be cleaned by Akfix Foam cleaner. Dried foam can be wiped out by mechanical force.

Properties

Safety

• Powerful adhesion of polystyrene heat panels (XPS and EPS). • Instant adhesion and wall plugging within two hours. • More economical. Ready to use in aerosol can. Minimum 6 m2 heat insulation panel adhesion for each can. • Minimum expansion during drying period. • After dried, no further expansion and shrinkage. • A lighter material compared to plaster, alternative material, used in heat insulation sytems. No more extra burden or weight to building. • High yield up to 55 litres, depending on the humidity and temperature. • Fire Class : E (According to EN 13501-1. It refers to B2 for DIN 4102 Part-1 ) • Usable at low temperature like 0 °C

Cured/Dried foam is not dangerous to human health. However, fresh foam has free NCO harmful to health. While using foam, glove and glasses must be worn. Uncured foam can irritate to skin and respiration system. After using the foam, gas coming out from the can must not be inhalated for a long time. Because of the can pressurized, the can should be away from flame, direct sunlight and high storage temperatures like more than 50 °C.

Applications • Best for mounting heat insulation panels and filling voids during adhesive application. • Advised for wooden type construction materials adhesion to concrete, metal etc. • Applications needed minimum expansion. • Mounting and isolation for frames of windows and doors.

UNIVERSAL SILICONE SEALANT Description

Restrictions

AKFIX 100E is an acid-curing, one-component silicone sealant for a range of general sealing and glazing applications. It's suitable for use on common non-porous building materials.

• Akfix 100E is not recommended for use on porous substrates such as marble, granite, stone or concrete. • Akfix 100E releases acetic acid during curing. Therefore, it must not be used on mirrors and sensitive metals such as copper, brass, lead and some types of aluminum. • Not overpaintable • Akfix 100E is not a suitable sealant for aquariums. • In case Akfix 100E is exposed to prolonged direct sunlight, it may become yellowish due to fungicide in its content. • Because the sealant needs moisture to cure, it must not be used in entirely confined spaces.

Properties • Stays permenantly elastic after curing • Acetoxy curing system • Very good adhesion on common building materials and nonporous surfaces • Resistance to aging, cracking and discoloring • Resistant to many chemicals, cleaning agents and detergents • Can be applied in any season • Typical acetic smell during curing

Applications • • • • • •

General sealing and glazing applications Sealing around windows and doors Sealing in DIY applications Sanitary applications Connection and expansion joints Sealing electric, telephone etc. sockets and switches

Safety If inhaled over a prolonged period or in large volumes, the acetic acid vapours released during curing may cause irritation of the respiratory system. Therefore, the application must take place in a well-ventilated areas. Prolonged contact with uncured sealant must be avoided.

Technical Data

Instructions • The application temperature must be between +5 °C and +40 °C. • Ensure that surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry and greasefree. • In order to reduce the deformations of the joints, their depth must be much less than their width, minimum dimensions are 5x5 mm, for wider joints the depth should be preferably half of the width and it is adjusted by the use of a back up material. • After the application, the sealant must be tooled with light pressure within 5 minutes to spread the material against the joint surfaces and to obtain a professional finish. • Excess uncured sealant may be cleaned with solvent.

Restrictions

AKFIX 100S is a premium sanitary silicone sealant for use in humid enviroments such as kitchens and bathrooms. It is an ideal sealant for construction sealing applications where mildew resistance is required.

• Akfix 100S is not recommended for use on porous substrates such as marble, granite, stone or concrete. • Akfix 100S releases acetic acid during curing. Therefore, it must not be used on mirrors and sensitive metals such as copper, brass, lead and some types of aluminum. • Not overpaintable • Akfix 100S is not a suitable sealant for aquariums. • In case Akfix 100S is exposed to prolonged direct sunlight, it may become yellowish due to fungicide in its content. • Because the sealant needs moisture to cure, it must not be used in entirely confined spaces.

Properties • • • • • • • • •

Rapid curing. Perfect adhesion to most non-porous substrates. No shrinkage, %100 silicone Resists mildew even in prolonged hot and humid enviroments. Stays permenantly elastic. Acetoxy curing system. Resistance to aging, cracking and discoloring. Resistant to many chemicals, cleaning agents and detergents. One component, moisture-cured.

Applications • • • • • • •

Sealing around bathtubs, shower tubs, sinks Building joints in humid environments Sealing applications in kitchens Sealing around shower cabins. Sealing applications in air conditioning systems Sealing applications in cold storage rooms and containers Sealing sanitary technical appliances and kitchen appliances.

Instructions • The application temperature must be between +5 oC and +40 oC. Ensure that surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry and grease-free. In order to reduce the deformations of the joints, their depth must be much less than their width, minimum dimensions are 5x5 mm, for wider joints the depth should be preferably half of the width and it is adjusted by the use of a back up material. • After the application, the sealant must be tooled with light pressure within 5 minutes to spread the material against the joint surfaces and to obtain a professional finish. Excess uncured sealant may be cleaned with solvent.

100S

Safety If inhaled over a prolonged period or in large volumes, the acetic acid vapours released during curing may cause irritation of the respiratory system. Therefore, the application must take place in a well-ventilated areas. Prolonged contact with uncured sealant must be avoided.
