Your villa is usually cleaned in the morning. Depending on the number of guests staying, the staff may come in the afternoon. If you would like them to come at a particular time, please let them know and we will try and accommodate your request. The team starts at 8 am and finishes at 4 pm.

If you wish to remain undisturbed there please hang the PRIVATE sign on the door.

Yudi is our manager and experienced in hospitality. He is a wonderful man and very helpful. Ask him about local traditions and any recommendation of Bali simple breakfast as close as possible to the time you request Please tell them what you would like from the following selection:

Kadek Rita is our Senior Housekeeper and has been working with us for many years She lives in the local village of Lodtunduh with her husband and young children Fera joined us in late 2017. She is quiet, but super friendly, and cares deeply that our guests have a wonderful time at the villas.

Wayan Jepin is our youngest member and is still practising his English. He is thoughtful and kind and it would be great if you encourage him to speak English.

Freshly cut tropical fruit or Freshly blended tropical fruit juices

Fried, scrambled, boiled eggs or a tasty omelette or Banana Pancakes

Toast and home made jams

Fresh coffee and tea

Tipping

There is no pressure to tip in Bali, however if you feel the staff have done a wonderful job then they will appreciate and share any tips amongst themselves to support their families

Adaptors

There are 4 universal adapters in the bottom drawer of the kitchen Feel free to use them during your stay

Please leave them behind when you depart so that the next guests can use them

Bathrooms

Indoor/outdoor bathrooms are part of the appeal of life in Bali. Having a shower underneath the sky or a bath surrounded by jungle foliage is an unique experience.

We are happy to offer you toiletries for your use during your stay You will find them in every bathroom Toiletries include hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner Harvest Moon villa has 2 hairdryers

KITCHEN, FOOD, WATER

Kitchen: Plates, cutlery and appliances are all available for use The staff will clean up for you every morning – it’s a good idea to rinse in the sink after use unless you’re fond of interesting ant trails and extra buzzing insects

Food goes off quickly in the tropics and can attract flies Keep food covered if it’s not in the fridge unless you want a host of unwelcome visitors

Water: In the kitchen you will find a water dispenser with hot and cold options. The dispenser uses bottled water. The water from the regular tap comes from a 55 meter well and is drinkable. We use it to brush our teeth and wash our food. Nevertheless, we recommend that you not drink it for your own peace of mind.

Noise

With respect to our Balinese neighbours and to assure Harvest Moon villa is a peaceful respite from the outside world, we ask that the noise (eg music or TV) is kept low, especially after 9pm Turning on the water features will help mask noise from outside and assist you with your privacy This is a priority request

Laundry

There are many laundries on the road to Ubud where you can drop off your washing Unfortunately, we haven’t found one we can recommend Most of them use industrial dryers that can be fatal for good clothes We use Bali Breeze but recommend you hand wash any delicate items yourself Please put dirty towels on the floor of the bathroom and the staff will supply you with fresh ones If you need more, just ask

Swimming Pool

Community Pool Hours are 9am – 6pm Having a private swimming pool in your villa does not mean you cannot use the social hub of the communal Desa Bulan pool! A great way to meet other guests and a good place to swim with children due to the shallow kiddy-pool Following heavy rains the pools may be cloudy, but are still perfectly safe to swim in They are maintained by our pool maintenance staff and gardeners, Pak Wasa and Koyo Should you notice any issues with the pool, please notify our staff and they will immediately address this

Rubbish And Recycling

We have a recycling service at Desa Bulan: ‘recycling’ for bottles, tins, paper and plastics; and ‘landfill’ is for organic waste and all other waste

Please keep your valuables close at hand and locked in the safe when not in use We would love to say that there has never been a theft at Desa Bulan but unfortunately this is not the case You can help our security staff by keeping your valuables locked in the safes when not in use

We trust our staff and know them very well. They tend to worry for your sake when they see valuables lying around. Ultimately your personal items are your own responsibility.
