Here's How The Good Old TV Turned Into An LED TV.

It is a universal truth that time always brings a change in everything that exists on earth. Technology is one of the things that evolve at a surprising rate. The invention of TV took place 91 years ago, when on 26th May 1927, John Logie Baird, who was a Scottish engineer, invented the first television model, connected over a GPO telephone network. It was the world’s first long-distance transmission of television pictures, that brought the concept of visual appeal in screens. Today, the most popular television sets among people is the LED TV (Light Emitting Diode). It’s in demand for its two major segments, namely FULL HD LED TV and the Smart LED TV. With the changing times, the technology kept on advancing and the various new breakthroughs resulted in better screens. Here are some of them:-

RCA 630-TS This first television set came into the market during 1946-1947. The demand was high. But the issues like small screen, black and white colour limitations and dull picture quality were some of the major constraints.

SALORA BLACK AND WHITE BOX Between the 60s and 80s, this model was popularly adopted by many brands. But after the initial demand, the product lost its importance due to the lack of durability.

CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) During the 90s, this television model was invented and got sold like hot cakes. Thanks to its colourful impression of the screen and big size, the TV watching experience improved significantly. The only problem with these TV sets was that they came in a big box shape, which customers didn’t like, as it took a lot of space in the room.

FLAT SCREEN Soon after the failure of CRT TVs in the 90s, this model was introduced. It was lighter, so it could be easily mounted on the wall. The difference between CRT TV and flat screen TV wasn’t made, until in the early 2000s, flat screen choices increased due to LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and Plasma technology. Plasma TV, was considered to be one of the best TVs, thanks to its better view angle screen and high refresh rate (reducing blur and fast-moving actions). But when compared to LCD panel, it didn’t perform well, as LCD had backlight made from energy-saving CCFL lamps. Later on, as the prices decreased, LCD made its dominance in the market.

In 2014, when LED TV were produced, its demand increased more than LCD because of:1) better screen size than LCD 2) better colour quality 3) lifespan of more than 30 years as compared to LCD 4) better Viewing angle with wider contrast 5) less power consuming 6) more environment-friendly as compared to LCD

The huge demand of LED TV can be attributed to the technological advancements, like Smart LED TV & Android TV, that gives you access to many applications, such as movies, games, browser, news, etc. apart from the normal TV shows on your DTH. Another reason is the emergence of FULL HD LED TV & 4K LED TV, which delivers a surreal experience due to its high resolution.
