client profile

History Founded in 2014 by Neil Renninger and A dam Lowry, Ripple has grown to become one of the top producers of non-dairy milk products and one of the few to use peas as their source. The company started with three flavors of non-dairy pea milk and has expanded their product line to include half and half, Greek-style yogurt, and even ice cream in development. Since their inception, Ripple has strived to make a dairy-free milk that is high in protein, low in sugar, full of nutrition, and most importantly tastes good.

Mission: “We envision a world where innovation and technology, responsibility applied, unleashed a wave of healthy eaters who choose plant-based foods because they are delicious above all else.

Ripple Foods employs a holacratic organizational structure in their company. Focused on autonomy rather than defined tasks and job titles, power is distributed throughout the organization, giving individuals and teams more freedom to self-manage, while staying aligned to the organization’s purpose. Holacracy replaces the management hierarchy with an explicit and lightweight ruleset that sets clear expectations and makes transparent the decision-making authority at every level in the organization.

concept statement + goals

Butterfly Effect The design of the new Ripple office located in Chattanooga, Tennessee will be based on the concept of the butterfly effect. Just as the flap of a butterfly’s wings have the ability to cause a wave of change, the design will aim to highlight the company’s constant strive for bettering the world. The concept will directly relate to Ripple’s company organization and it’s autonomy, symbiosis, and direct effect that the teams within the company have on each other. A professional, simple. and biophilic design will help contribute to the productivity and overall goals that Ripple has for their company as well as their consumers. Forward thinking design elements will be employed throughout the design of the office, directly relating to the forward thinking ideals of the company. The goal of the design of the new office will be to provide a working space that best suits the “tiltle-less” autonomous teams to work together as a whole and best achieve the goals of the company.

GOALS: Utilize an open, unassigned workspaces and layout Offer communal spaces for mingling and communication Incorporate elements of biophilic design Create a space that promotes the health of employees through the use of prospect, quality and sufficient light, access to the outdoors, as well as healthy air quality
