Blacks Run/Downtown Clean Up Day Celebrate our local waterways and volunteer your time with a couple of hours of good cleanup fun. The Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival Bach Festival is a week-long summer music festival devoted to promoting an appreciation and understanding of the music of Bach. Held on the campus of Eastern Mennonite University as well as other venues in Harrisonburg.

Rocktown Beer & Music Festival For the past three years, three thousand happy people converged on Downtown Harrisonburg to enjoy a day of great music, food, and craft beer.

Harris-Roubaix The Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition brings the HarrisRoubaix to Harrisonburg. This casual group ride takes bikers around a 10-15 mile loop, and back. A diversity of bikes are welcome, from road bikes and mountain bikes to single speeds and kids trailers. Massanutten Yee-Ha! Massanutten is the first stop in the Gravity East Downhill Series, which consists of eight races at eight incredible venues. Spectators are welcome to this downhill mountain bike race.

in hues of yellow, orange, and peach. Daffodils grace the circular gardens of the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum as visitors stroll through the grounds.

Annual Events Massanutten Hoo-Ha! A cross country mountain bike race and Triple Crown All Mountain, the Massanutten Hoo-Ha! provides a course with technical terrain that will challenge mountain biking skills. Harrisonburg-Rockingham African-American Festival Promote family and celebrate heritage and diversity through expressions of faith and love. Enjoy an afternoon of entertainment, fellowship, activities, crafts, art, music, food, exhibitors and more!

Fridays on the Square Music and Movies Live musical groups alternate

with films every Friday evening on Courthouse Square in downtown Harrisonburg. Music starts at 7pm. Films start at 8pm or dusk. Bring your picnics, blankets, lawn chairs, and all the kids.

Tour de Burg Held the first week of July each year, this grueling sixday mountain and road bike stage race combines the most challenging trails and roads that the central valley has to offer.

Fundfest Fundfest is an evening of entertainment including live music and beer and food vendors, with entry proceeds benefitting the SPCA.

Red Wing Roots Festival The Red Wing Roots Music Festival is the Shenandoah Valley’s premiere family-friendly music festival. Forty bands, four stages and three full days of good times! Join the fun and bring the whole family!

July Summer Jam at Massanutten Resort Celebrate on the slopes of Massanutten with live music, great food and a fireworks finale that will light up the mountain. Valley Fourth It’s Harrisonburg’s quintessential 4th of July celebration! Great food, music and entertainment attract thousands of people to downtown for a full day of events, and a grand fireworks display.

August Love on Tap: Virginia Craft Beer Month Celebrate the diverse selection of Virginia craft beer all month long with Love on Tap: Virginia Craft Beer Month. Throughout the month, check out select restaurant and brewery pairings, tastings, specials and events. Tomato Fest Celebrate all things tomato at the annual Tomato Fest! Enter the Community Tomato Recipe

Contest for a chance to win cash prizes. Rockingham County Fair This week-long event brings agriculture, great music and traditional fair fun together for one of Virginia’s largest agricultural fairs. Grandstand events include Tractor Pulls, Demolition Derby and a variety of music including Gospel, Pop, Country, and Rock. Harrisonburg International Festival Celebrate the many cultures that make up our community. We feature international foods, music, and dance, activities for

all ages, a multi-language area, and a World Bazaar featuring traditional folk art. September-October Six Pack Downhill A fun and informal group ride in the mountains west of Harrisonburg. Each week covers a new trail somewhere within the George Washington National Forest. Rocktown Beer & Music Festival Enjoy a day of great music, food, and craft beer. Offering more than 60 beers with national names like Stone and Dogfish, as well as local favorites such as Blue Mountain and Devils Backbone.

Virginia Wine Month Celebrate the state-wide celebration of Wine Month with special events, tastings, and pairings all month long in Harrisonburg at local restaurants and vineyards. Dayton Days Autumn Celebration The first Saturday in October celebrates the beauty and artistry of the Shenandoah

Valley at the annual Dayton Days Autumn Celebration with over 300 vendors with handmade crafts & goods. Massanutten Fall Festival Celebrate the changing of the seasons at the annual Massanutten Fall Festival. Over 60 arts vendors, live music, chairlift rides to the top of the Peak, kids activities, wine sampling, beer garden, food, petting farm, and more! Shenandoah Mountain Bike Festival The Shenandoah Mountain Bicycle Festival is a highlight of Virginia’s fall cycling scene. During the Festival weekend there is plenty of time to experience the great riding in the area as well as the opportunity to camp and meet fellow cyclists. Halloween on the Square Celebrate Halloween downtown with your little ghosts and goblins. Children’s activities, costume contests and trick-ortreating.
