Arts Journeys: Exploring Art Around Nashville

Rising 4th – 5th grades Week 2: June 8 – 12 Rising 6th – 7th grades Week 7: July 13 – 17 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. $150 plus a $25 supply fee Each afternoon, we will visit a special Nashville site: Cheekwood, The Frist, the Parthenon, and Radnor Lake. We will look at and learn about what we see there, and draw in our sketchbooks. (Sketchbooks and supplies provided in materials fee.) Join artist and Harpeth Hall art and art history teacher Marla Faith on these unforgettable journeys for eye, mind, heart, and hand. This camp is limited to 14 campers. Week 1: June 1 – 5 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Rising Pre-K – 2nd grades $150 Every little girl is a princess at heart, and she will love the Every Girl’s a Princess camp! Led by Harpeth Hall faculty members Kristin Bernet and Amy Miller, your daughter will learn about princesses from around the world, while also celebrating a different wellknown princess each day. She will practice princess etiquette, hear and create her own princess stories, enjoy princess tea parties and games, dance to princess songs, and make princess-themed arts and crafts. What better way for your princess to spend her mornings? This camp is limited to 18 campers.

Rising K – 2nd grades Week 6: July 6 – 10 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. $250 plus a $25 supply fee Explore the world of art with Harpeth Hall’s Jacquie Watlington. Your daughter will create a different piece of art in a different medium each day. Using pencils, paintbrushes, glitter, and glue, girls will delve into the world of creativity. Learning different artistic techniques, your little artist will flourish as she is inspired to create and play with new friends in a fun environment. This camp will also take two exciting field trips to see what amazing art is in Nashville! Friday will culminate in a student Art Show for friends and family to attend. This camp is limited to 12 campers. This camp will also have extra counselors to accommodate the young age group.

Ages 4 – rising 2nd graders Week 7: July 13 – 17 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. $250 (lunch and snacks included) Brrrrrrrr, Harpeth Hall is having a cold spell. During this fun-filled week, girls will be divided into groups based on age. Girls will sing, dance, and make new friends in this winter wonderland. From snow cones to snow globes, girls will have fun making crafts and making friends. It is hot outside, but cool on campus. At week’s end, the girls will have a performance for family and friends.

Little Girls’ Camp

This day camp is geared especially toward younger girls. Each week has a specific theme, and campers will participate in a variety of fun activities grouped by age. Themed activities for each week include arts and crafts, dance, drama, science, loads of games, swimming day with slip-and-slide, songs, and much more! At the end of the week, the campers will show off their new skills and artwork for parents, friends, and guests in an entertaining production! These day camps fill quickly. Sign up early! Lunch and snacks included.

Little Girls’ Camp: Magic Kingdom Camp

Ages 4 – rising 2nd graders Week 8: July 20 – 24 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. $250 (lunch and snacks included) Is it Orlando? Nope, it’s Hobbs Road. From Minnie to Mulan, each day at Magic Kingdom Camp will focus on a different Disney heroine. Girls will be divided into groups based on age. This week your daughter will learn about different powerful girls … some are princesses, some are fighters, and well, some are even mice. Girls will sing, dance, and craft. At week’s end, the girls will have a performance for family and friends.

Little Girls’ Camp: Polar Camp

Painting

Rising 10th – 12th grades Week 8: July 20 – 24 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Students bring own lunch or eat out) $350 This course is for the serious student who is preparing for AP Art or a college portfolio. Students are introduced to the different qualities of oil painting while studying the classical approach to the medium and to the many ways oils are used by contemporary artists. This course is taught by Harpeth Hall AP Art teacher Rosie Paschall. Space is limited to 12 students.

Parks, Picnics, and Play

Middle School Dance Camp

Rising 5th – 7th grades Week 8: July 20 – 24 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. $150 This is the perfect camp for the Middle School dancer. This full week of unique classes will be geared toward students with some previous training. Dancers will work in an encouraging atmosphere with an emphasis on fostering individual talents, as well as encouraging collaboration and improvisation in order to enhance

Rising K – 3rd grades Week 4: June 22 – 26 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. $250 (lunch and snacks included) Red rover, red rover, can your girl come over? Join Upper School science teachers Lisa Keen and Jennifer Perry as they take campers to a different park every day. In this mobile camp, the girls will visit a local park every morning and play traditional games like hopscotch and jump rope. Afterward they will enjoy a shaded picnic lunch. The afternoon will take place back at Harpeth Hall as the girls will make a homemade treat for the picnic the next day. Girls also will make several arts and crafts. This camp is limited to 24 campers.
