A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is an operation to lift the level of your eyebrows to a higher position. It can also help to lift folds of skin that may hang over your eyes giving a heavy brow and smooth out frown lines between your eyebrows, as well as any horizontal wrinkles you may have on your forehead. Brow lifts can be performed in several different ways. One method, call a coronal brow lift, involves your surgeon making a cut across the top of your scalp, hidden within your hair. Through the cut, your surgeon removes excess skin, shortens the muscles that cause frown lines and lifts your eyebrows. Another technique uses small endoscopes (“keyhole surgery�) which are inserted through tiny cuts in your hairline, to reduce the muscles that cause frown lines. This type of brow lift normally has the advantage of minimal scarring, but your surgeon will not be able to make as many changes as when a coronal brow lift is performed. Each method requires either a local or general anaesthesia. You will usually be able to return home later the same day. A brow lift can solve the problem of droopy eyelids and forehead wrinkles. Sometimes Botox may be an alternative to the problem without the need for surgery. Botox (or botulinum toxin) is a protein and a neurotoxin that is injected into the skin, it relaxes the muscles to reduce dynamic lines. Botox will not give the same results as a brow lift, but it can lift the brow and open the eyes making you look fresher and less tired.
What Are The Results From The Browlift Treatment? The results from the brow lift procedure vary from patient to patient, but the results are always a fresher, natural, a more awake and younger look. A brow lift procedure is surgery; allow around a week to 10 days to recover. There will be some swelling and bruising in the area, but once this subsides, you will be able to get back to your normal routine quickly.
