Trades/Technology Building Maintenance A Building Maintenance Technician maintains and manages a variety of systems in various buildings. This program is designed to provide students with the most up to-date information and skills necessary for effectively and efficiently maintaining residential and commercial properties. Courses focus on maintaining plumbing, air conditioning, heating and electrical systems, and carpentry skills. In addition, the student must take the OSHA 10hour safety course. Program graduates are prepared for entry-level positions for maintenance workers, facilities managers, building contractors, construction material sales, and inspectors. With additional experience and education, students may progress to management and supervisory positions in the construction and maintenance fields. Must take Basic Refrigeration or have instructor approval prior to taking any other HVAC courses. REQUIRED COURSES

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Harford’s HVAC/R program prepares students for entry-level positions in the HVAC industry in under 12 months. Many of our hands-on classes take place in simulated work environments so that you get the skills and experience you need to attract employers and find in-demand job opportunities. The training at HCC is fast track and career focused so you can move more quickly into the working world. At HCC, students have access to an up-to-date lab environment for training and lessons in the diagnosis, repair, and service of basic HVAC/R systems. The lab is fully equipped to support all class lessons with the latest in HVAC/R equipment. The HVAC/R program provides experience working on small-, medium-, and large-scale heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Harford Community College offers certification that can be completed in just one day! Completing this training offers many employers the experience to get you that job.
