CherisHEd ReaDerS,

What we’ve learned as we navigate ourselves to go to Him is an infinite journey, it’s not just like an overnight remedy wherein you’re already fixed for quite some time, thus, it takes a lifetime to get closer and know Him more. He revealed Himself to us, now, it’s our duty whether we would like to see Him or pretend to have a blindfold on so we can run away from Him. Therefore, what we’d like you to unfold that fold to see is that it will never be an easy way; we are often challenged, tested, and tempted. We may not see Him physically, rather, we envision an image of Him for His presence is just everywhere. He can be found through other people that will help us to build our own boat and start the journey ourselves. And as we go through tough times, we may question His will, but because His existence is just everywhere, we would come to realize that He never left us, hence, guided us… even from afar. Lastly, we can call ourselves now as people who’ve “sailed and called”, we wander around to make our own boat, and now, we encourage others to build their own. Land Ho!

The Old Testament is made up of 39 minor books divided into 4 divisions. The Pentateuch; first five books, then historical books, the poetic writings, and lastly the prophetic books. These texts were designed as a unified three-part compilation termed TaNaKh (Torah, Nevi'im, and Ketuvim). Throughout Israel's history, generations of prophetic scribes gathered earlier stories and poems and integrated them to create the scrolls; they felt God's spirit was leading the entire process. The final form of TaNaKh promises God’s plans redemption through a prophetic interpretation of Israel's history. The Torah begins with God creating and blessing the universe and then entrusting a creature that reflects the divine image— the human. (Adam in Hebrew). As kings and queens of creation, He designated humanity to rule the world. It is in opposition to the Creator, and it deceives humanity into rebelling against God's compassion. Nevi'im— divided into two sub-collections. God had a plan said the prophets, to purify His people and raise a new Israel who would be faithful like Abraham. They will dwell in a new covenant with David, who will restore God's blessing to the entire world. The Ketuvim, the TaNaKh's third and final sub-collection. The scrolls in this sub-collection include the Psalms scroll; linked to the beginning of the Torah, the Prophets, and teaches God's people how to pray while they wait for this future hope.

A unique collection of documents that highlight the apostles' testimonies that direct us to the Risen Jesus Himself. The conclusion of the narrative is actually the beginning of a new story that has is to be told. The 27 books of the New Testament were all written within 30 to 40 years of each other by first-generation followers of Christ. Started with four narrative works referred to collectively as "the Gospel"—they explain the story of Jesus of Nazareth's life, death, and resurrection; afterward comes a fifth narrative work is known as "Acts of the Apostles." Jesus was depicted as a person, amongst many other things. He even behaved and then spoke like he was Israel's divine king. Rather than calling Himself "King," Jesus addressed Himself as the "Son of Man"— the human one who would act like a servant. Because God's love for His world is greater than evil or death, it generated new life as the model of a new humanity— which proceeds to the story of Acts, in which Jesus' disciples are empowered by the spirit. According to the Book of Revelation, if you follow the Risen King (Jesus), not even death can halt the dawn of the New Creation (depicted as a New Jerusalem)

He attended and graduated school at Dr. A. Albert School for elementary, Far Eastern University for high school, and the University of Santo Tomas for college. There was a moment in his life when he and his family's safety were in danger because of a person who wanted money. One of his loved ones was murdered, and days after what happened, he was about to die as well, but one of the murderers spared him for unexplained reasons; justice has still yet to be served because the mastermind fled to another country. Many years have passed, and now butch is extremely happy with his wife and children, and he is still striving for the justice that his loved one deserved.

Prior to the COVID-19, Butch always goes to church every Thursday and Sunday, and even during the pandemic, he still attends masses using online platforms. He is a man that fears God, for he respects, loves, and honors the Lord. He teaches and encourages his children to read and learn from the Bible. He makes every effort to help those in need, and when he receives a blessing from God, he does not keep it to himself; instead, he shares it with others because he does not want to be the only one who benefits from it. He never lost faith in God despite the several instances that had broken his heart and still continue to find ways to be closer to Him.

During the pandemic several people are dying, being separated, and isolated. We may feel lost, hopeless, and miserable, however, God is always there for us and will help us in our times of need. We may not feel it immediately, but God will never forsake and abandon us, for He loves us unconditionally and completely.God's presence is everywhere, even if we don't notice it. Surrendering all of our worries to Him will help us find peace that nobody else can give because He knows and understands all of our struggles and pain. We should put our trust in God because He knows what's best for us. He is the one that gives us motivation and strength to overcome the difficulties we face. He is the one that helps and guides us to the right path. He is the one that will give us confidence and protection to face tomorrow. We may be sinners, but in God's eyes, we are His unique and precious creation.

MAGLALAYAG A AlmYKa ZoFiyA LoOnG The ups and downs of life can take a toll on us. It has already taken its toll on me. The advent of the pandemic pushed me over the edge, and I have begun to question God in ways that my religion forbids me from doing. As the toll of individuals affected by said situation and those who died rose, I began to lose faith and hope. But, despite the pandemic, I continued to find a way to deepen my relationship with God as months passed. Thus the school year started with soaring hopes and aspirations in different aspects, introducing the one that led me to a stronger faith in the Lord, the Fundamentals of Faith. Even as a Muslim, I have spent all my years studying in a catholic school. But despite having different beliefs and religions, I have always known that my faith and theirs are far from different. The teachings in FunFaith continue to drive me to understand, respect, and connect their faith with mine. The numerous conceptions, spanning from God's Love to the Sacred Scriptures, assisted me in comprehending that God is love. He is love for he formed a covenant with his chosen people, lovingly communicated with us through ordinary events, prophets, and oral traditions turned into writings which soon became the sacred scriptures, and most importantly, sacrificed His only Son, Jesus Christ, to save us all from sin. Finally, Funfaith taught me to trust God in difficult times. When we enjoy God's grace, true faith does not imply that we can passionately work and expend for Him. Rather, it refers to a created being that seeks the truth with an obedient heart, comprehends God's will, forsakes the flesh, remains loyal to God, and gladly abandons our personal interests in order to practice the truth and satisfy God when we face situations that contradict our own beliefs—whether they are hardships, refining experiences, or other difficulties. This is what I believe genuine faith entails.

By word, deed, and example, Christ made God’s redemptive love genuine in the lives of people who live in a broken and wounded world. We shall all entail ourselves to do the same thing. Striving to become a bridge between man and God, strengthening our faith through prayer, compassion, and love to neighbors, and most importantly, reminding ourselves of His presence. Like a puzzle piece, we all shall take one step at a time to connect ourselves to be able to create an image of being the stewards of God’s reflection of order and goodness, His Creation. We shall be able to stand in a position where we, humans, and God meet and communicate with Him through our powerful prayers and messages that speak the truth of the Lord—disregarding the errors and fallacies that hinder the power of our faith to Him. We, like Christ, shall fulfill our role as His children by solely speaking the Good News, especially to those in great need. Heed the cries of the poor and act for the poor because no one will do so but ourselves. It is our responsibility. In a shattered and damaged world, light will shine upon us as we rise to fulfill our responsibilities, and what was once the horizon is now a paradise right in front of our eyes.

T MAGTATAWAG EmMAn NUeLle eDu Many people around me taught me to have faith in God. Since I grew up with a religious family, we usually attend Sunday mass, celebrate different religious festivities, and listen to the Salvation and Word of God. Even though our family has a huge faith towards God, I sincerely felt that there is a “missing piece'' in my life that I am still looking for, especially in these challenging times. There are

instances in my life that I already feel hopeless and alone because of the successive problems I've witnessed and encountered but when FF came as one of the subjects in the STEM strand, I considered it as a huge blessing because I want to know more about the Christian religion and maybe it can help me to discover the “missing piece” in my life. Since FF is a Christian subject, I am very happy that it serves as a platform for wisdom and faith among different students across different religions. I want to compare my faith journey to a Wifi connection because similar to it, it is intended to access and connect to different people around the globe, but sometimes, it doesn't function well and tends to disconnect. However, after many times of failure, it will always reconnect and come back stronger just like my faith. Connecting to God every time makes me comfortable, happy, and inspired to be a good model of faith towards different people we encounter in life. The most important thing that I’ve learned about it is, may this be a reminder to all of us that there will always be a God around us who will take care, guide, and love us amid the darkest and challenging times. Even though it may sound cliche, two words that I could think of regarding FF are “fulfilling" and "life-changing” because it made an impact on my life as a son and student. Learning FF is not only about the terminologies, definitions, and concepts, but also, it makes a huge impact on the lives of every student by following the principles and missions of God. FF is beyond an academic subject, since it focuses more on deepening one's faith and relationship with God. Indeed, I’m extremely happy and fun about my journey in Fundamental of Faith led by Ms. Heart Bayaton which truly helped me a lot in deepening and reconnecting my faith towards God.

As part of my mission and responsibility to God, I am willing to unfold and live out the 3-fold mission of God to our brothers and sisters in Christ. We were created by God because of His eternal love and willingness to disclose His plans to everyone. We have our purpose and mission in our lives, and one of these is to do the three-fold mission. You may think of this as a difficult task to do, but you can already help a lot by doing only simple acts and things. We can be faithful missionaries in our ways. We may also incorporate this mission in different and more interesting ways during these times, and one way is through technology which takes a huge place in our everyday lives. Using technology or social media as a platform to share the Good News and the Salvation of God is one way to express our responsibility to God. Nowadays, many people are doing this kind of set-up already and I don’t see anything wrong when it comes to it as an avenue of 3-fold mission as long as you follow its principles. In this way, it can be accessed and reached by many people among different generations and across different locations. Knowing that you made a huge impact on the faith and morality of other people is already a huge fulfillment to anyone. As children of God, let’s do our parts in being a good model of faith by following the commandments of God and doing the 3-fold mission.

MAGLALAYAG A EtHan ZAcharY TriNiDad There was a time in my life when my faith was not just misplaced, but was also deemed invaluable in my life. I used to relate God to all the bad things that keep coming into my life, being the reason why I can’t be happy all the time. It was a difficult period during my time, having nothing but myself to rely on as even (from my

my point of view) God made me feel unwanted. Through my understanding from the lessons given to me during FF, I was able to reconnect myself with God and change all the misconceptions I have placed. After some time, after a lot of reflection and religious insight, my faith has deepened to an extent that God is more than a presence within myself. I have been able to channel my energy into doing good deeds that I have been destined to do. There are many ways I can live out the 3-fold mission of Christ. First and foremost, I will represent His good being through good deeds. I will help other people to the best of my ability, present utmost maturity under hardship and turn over to peaceful solutions. Although I am human, I will do what I can to share the eternal words and lessons of the Lord, which is what any Priest or Prophet would direct oneself to do. I will make the best out of the freedom and choice God has given me through enlightening others about these said gifts, showing them that they can be much more than what they know about themselves now -- nothing would be more pleasing than to reveal to others their maximum potential. As someone who is free, I must control even my own emotions to not precede others’ and step on them. I may consider myself as the king in my being, but not in everyones. Therefore, I will be concrete with working with others, but flexible when the situation demands it.

T MAGTATAWAG KieL MaNUel CrUZ When I was in junior high school I never, not even once appealed for help from God. I tend to forget that God was always beside me, I became too ignorant about his presence. My junior high school days were so tough, I was so lost and had no one to talk to. I only acknowledged my friend’s presence because I thought that they were the ones who would give me a true source of happiness, that they were always going to be by my side ready to help me at all times. But then this pandemic came, my life became in despair. The feeling of being alone gets me everytime. Now that I became a senior high school student in this school I got introduced to a Subject that is named FF. When I first attended my class, I became aware that I was being ignorant, that I was being absent minded. Now that I am attending my class FF my faith with god deepens, I get to know him better. I used to pray now very often, unlike my junior high school days. FF really helped me change and get closer with God. I have now realized that I am not alone because God is always beside me.

I will give out my all and actively live out the 3-Fold mission of christ, it can be a difficult job but God will guide me. I will help other people and do a lot of good deeds and strengthen my faith in God. I will share my knowledge about God to other people, helping them understand God more and to know him better and strengthen their fate even more. I must not be an arrogant fool, hence I need to be the perfect example to others. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity I cannot waste. I will do all my best to help others know the meaning of their existence through God.

MAGLALAYAG A EuLAliO CelEsTiNo iV My Journey was a bit of a rollercoaster ride. I was crippled; my life was disoriented and scrambled because of certainties that affected my faith. Once, I told myself that my life is nothing, voices creeping on me telling me to give up, to commit temptation. Darkness was the only thing that was in my my eyes. To the point that I haven't talked to God that much anymore. But when Senior High School started, especially our course on FF, the roller coaster went on another route. It helped me reconnect and feel alive once again. All the misunderstandings, beliefs have been answered and cleared through our lessons and insights. I was able to stand back up with light brightly seen. My faith was stronger as ever with God's presence within me. Now, I have reason to continue in life. Adding to that is being able to guide others to God's home.

Living to be one of the followers of the 3-fold mission of Christ can be a difficult job, but being able to take Jesus’s name within us must be an honor. Additionally, we must bring out the best in us. So, we can do the challenges. I will not waste this opportunity of my life and use it to its maximum potential. I will do what I am capable of to share his everlasting lessons and his words to the people. It is also a way for us to strengthen our faith and increase our understanding of God. We can say that we are free beings; I must stay humble and always chin-up to be able to work and help others within me.

T MAGTATAWAG AarON KylE ManGuLAbNan Fundamentals of Faith not only deepened my faith in God; it also helped me a lot and made me love Him even more. My faith in God has always been strong, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that there are days when I resent and distance myself from Him. Those days occur when I feel abandoned and wronged, but because of the lessons and stories I have learned, my insight has grown, causing me to think and act differently when I encounter situations like that. The more I learned about God, the more driven I became to become closer to Him, prompting me to attempt new activities like reading the Bible, watching videos, and reading articles regarding Christianity. To sum it up, FunFaith strengthened my faith and brought me to a closer relationship with God.

I will do my utmost best to actively carry out the 3-fold mission; it may not be easy at first, but it will bring happiness, light, and love along the way. The first thing that I can do is to be an instrument in spreading the word of God by using all the resources I have so that many others, not just myself, will be forgiven and saved. I must always stay humble and kind so that I can not only teach but also learn. I will also make every effort not to misuse the blessings and gifts that have been or will be bestowed upon me. Living my life to the fullest and making a difference is what I should do to inspire and shine a light on others.

MAGLALAYAG AT MAGTATAWAG

HanNAh KaRYLle EsPiriTu Abandoned what I was, replenished what I am right now. I never thought I was living since the pandemic started, voices of temptation to commit vices kept on approaching. I didn’t know how to handle it so I was imprisoned inside a jar with my own thoughts, and never thought of seeking help for I believed I was alone— that nobody could understand me; that no one could free me from that jar. As the school year started, I met new conquerors with different backgrounds, beliefs, aspirations, and religions, and it really helped me to open the container for myself; it was never easy, and this journey will never be. Also, being the subject named as “Fundamentals of Faith”— really has become the foundation for the recharged version of the person that I am today. It aided me to think that I really am not alone, I was just bottled up and there’s always this someone that has been waiting for me— and that’s my Savior. Finally, as this voyage of my faith received its base, thus, it’s now my chance to sail liberally and fulfill my duty. As I sail until the finite of my life, I will take the lead of fostering Jesus’ precious works as I become a jurist and activist to the people whenever they commit wrongdoing. Nevertheless, I must not forget that it’s my duty not to shame them because I, myself, also commit mistakes; thus, I’m willing to be corrected. For my faith, whatever I do, whatever I say, I’ll tell the truth about God even if it takes away my all. I should not be ashamed for He is the gleam and a guide unto my path. And even if darkness comes, I’ll be the light that will serve my people as I connect humanity to Jesus for them to also be a light to others.
