GETTING STARTED IMPLEMENTATION Research proves handwriting impacts student academic achievement and teaching the skill of handwriting is easy to do. In this interactive, handson session you will learn how to integrate our print and digital curriculum into your in-school or at-home instruction and how to assign student lessons using the Interactive Digital Teaching Tool alongside the HWT Digital Student App. Led by an LWT Certified Trainer, educators will learn best practices for teaching the physical approach to handwriting, including grip, and how to implement our teaching order and use of double lines to promote independent writing of letter, word, sentence, and paragraph skills. Learning Outcomes:

• Articulate the importance of implementing the handwriting process and physical approach to building student’s skills in print handwriting. • Identify a multisensory, child-friendly teaching order to teach capital letters, numbers, and lowercase letters. • Explain how double lines lead to student writing success and be able to use simple teaching tips to help students write on any type of lined paper. • Integrate the Interactive Digital Teaching Tool and Digital Student App to enhance and support in-class, flipped classroom, and virtual instruction. • Explore engaging ways to build student sentence skills and how to incorporate writing activities. • Locate additional resources to support your year-long handwriting instruction, including the Screener of Handwriting Proficiency, +Live Insights and the PD Hub.

TARGETED IMPLEMENTATION This center-based learning experience is informed by curriculum usage data and self-identification to target personalized learning needs to minimize teacher prep time and maximize student time on learning. Facilitated by an LWT Certified Trainer, educators will deepen their curriculum best practices as they rotate through tailored hands-on centers using our products and teaching methods. This session is recommended six or more months after initial implementation. Learning Outcomes:

• Analyze school/district-wide year-to-date data usage and progress against established benchmarks to determine effectiveness of student instruction and identify areas of improvement. • Demonstrate the ability to use and teach various curriculum materials and strategies. • Identify ways to address the needs of all learners and adapt your instruction as needed. • Discover and brainstorm a list of activities that can be used for teaching multiple skills. • Maximize use of educator resources to continue to foster implementation fidelity. • Use the Screener of Handwriting Proficiency assessment to pinpoint students who are struggling with handwriting.

ADVANCED IMPLEMENTATION Do your educators know how to modify their student handwriting instruction for differentiation and remediation? Do you have instructional coaches serving as leaders in your district? This Observe to Learn two-part format will provide the in-depth, individualized coaching needed for advanced curriculum implementation. Part one includes observation of an LWT Certified Trainer teaching the curriculum to students. Part two is a facilitated Q&A session. Educators are encouraged to be prepared with questions ahead of time and formulate questions based on their classroom lesson observation. This workshop is recommended six or more months after initial implementation. Learning Outcomes: Classroom Observation

• Observe a curriculum lesson to generate ideas about how to apply best practices in your environment. • Summarize reflections from the observation, including significant learnings, and formulate questions for discussion. Learning Outcomes: Coaching Session

• Discuss significant learnings and questions from the classroom observation to optimize your curriculum lessons. • Explore strategies to balance workbook instruction with hands-on activities and online resources.

GETTING STARTED IMPLEMENTATION Get Set for School was developed by early childhood development and education experts based on proven, researched methods to support the way young students learn best. The Getting Started training will equip Pre-K educators of all experience levels with the curriculum components and skills to implement them with fidelity. The session is highly interactive and provides educators with the customized instruction, strategies, and skills needed for dynamic curriculum implementation. The strategies and tools learned can be implemented immediately to maximize student skill acquisition.

Learning Outcomes:

• Build and use core curriculum knowledge about Pre-K best instructional practices, classroom management, and curriculum alignment to implement the Get Set for School Pre-K Program. • Build a culture of books and implement play-based learning and differentiated instruction. • Develop and apply understanding of classroomfocused interactive digital teaching tools and how to use them for planning, distance teaching, and digital integration. • Experience the modeling of the cycle of lesson planning, implementation, reflection, and continuous improvement. • Participate in collaborative team-based learning, including guided practice with center-based lesson planning and independent practice aligned directly with educators’ specific student needs.

TARGETED IMPLEMENTATION Ready to build your implementation capacity? The Targeted session takes educators to the next level following at least six months of implementation. This competency-based training focuses on meeting the needs of your district and/or school. Alongside educator self-identification, district-specific, aggregate usage data of Get Set for School’s Pre-K nteractive Digital Teaching Tool (PreKTT) is used to customize targeted training to ensure the specific, individual needs of the district/school are met and elevate implementation fidelity. Coaching support addresses the target areas to increase educator effectiveness in using the Get Set for School Pre-K Program and to maximize student learning. The strategies and tools learned can be implemented immediately.

Learning Outcomes:

• Analyze aggregate usage data related to student outcomes for the prior months. • Use areas identified from the usage data analysis to determine targeted school/district educator learning needs. • Identify aligned strategies and digital tools to implement that address these target needs. • Employs demonstration of planning and application of strategies and digital tools to address areas of target needs. • Model application of instructional strategies and digital tools to modify daily instruction. • Participate in team-based guided practice, then independent practice, of planning strategies and implementation tools to address identified target needs.

ADVANCED IMPLEMENTATION Is your implementation of Get Set for School achieving its full potential? This Advanced training provides customized coaching developed through a partnership between your school district and Get Set for School Professional Services experts. The training is designed around your district’s specific goals for school improvement, curriculum integration technology/LMS, district aggregate usage data for dynamic teaching, ongoing learning, and growth focus. Educators generate a deeper understanding of the Get Set for School Pre-K Program content through an interactive live classroom observation and teamcoaching session.

Learning Outcomes:

• Refine understanding of progress monitoring strategies, data collection, and planning throughout the school year. • Develop deeper understanding of academic content. • Engage in team coaching with topics based on survey responses and district-identified growth areas and benchmarks. • Generate understanding of the purpose and application of Teacher Fidelity Checklists through modeling and demonstration. • Apply Teacher Fidelity Checklists independently.

GETTING STARTED IMPLEMENTATION The Getting Started session begins with research showing the importance of teaching touch typing in the elementary school years. A curriculum and implementation overview will equip your educators and coeducators with the tools they need to successfully get students started in the Keyboarding Without Tears program. Educators will preview the 36-week scope and sequence across the K–5 grade levels, including the first six weeks of foundational skill-building activities, to experience the engaging, cross-curricular themes and activities that students find familiar and fun. Educators will also get an overview of the features available in the educator dashboard for effective management of classes and individual students, including the optional digital citizenship and tech readiness components. Participants will explore the assessment options and reporting data. Learning Outcomes:

• Review research about elementary level keyboarding instruction. • Be able to use tools and resources to launch KWT in their learning environment. • Develop an initial understanding of a variety of implementation options, including pacing recommendations. • Participate in a comprehensive tour of features and settings available to manage the application at a class and student level. • Grow awareness of assessment options and reporting data.

TARGETED IMPLEMENTATION The Targeted session builds on the Getting Started information by targeting specific strategies based on progress data, educator-identified instructional modifications, student needs, and educator goals. Review grade-level specific Digital Citizenship and Tech Readiness lessons with strategies and live demos showing best practices. Learn how to leverage and implement the three, grade-level specific enrichment opportunities with fidelity to bolster additional practice using independent writing prompts, audio prompts, and personalized type over text activities. Discover school-to-home connections to increase practice opportunities and connect learning outcomes. Learning Outcomes:

• Review school/district-wide year-to-date usage data, assessment scores, and progress against established benchmarks. • Discuss any challenges to consistent practice. • Equip educators with the instructional modifications available within the educator dashboard. • Demonstrate how and when to implement the teacher-led digital citizenship, tech readiness and finger key reinforcement lessons. • Explore the three enrichment activity types available and the associated reporting data. • Introduce the school-to-home connection to reinforce regular practice.
