Connecting the Dots: The Evolution of Untold

Since its inception in 2015, the magazine formerly known as Canvas formerly known as Pipers In-Depth has been consistent in at least one thing: change. As each new editorial team takes up previous leadership's work, they also make it their own. Call it vision or vibes, whatever it is has expanded the magazine into different creative directions. It has welcomed different voices and perspectives from across campus. It has reminded us that it's okay to make a different kind of student journalism for and by our campus community.

That's always been the magazine's mission. In the wise words of alum and former Pipers In-Depth editor Travis Whitt, we're a publication of "the artists and weirdos" doing cool stuff that inspires and motivates and connects us on campus and beyond. (Did you check out his story on pages 4-5?)

Maybe Untold hasn't changed so much as simply grown. We're part of an evolution of storytelling, both the kinds of stories that need telling and the ways we need to tell them. We don't know what the future of Untold holds, but we hope it will continue to change, grow, and evolve for academic years to come.

Take a look at the evolution of Untold through our covers. See all our issues and learn more on "Our History" at hamlineuntold.com/our-history/.
