Help us to nurture the next generation of Haileyburians
Leaving a legacy is one of the most impactful ways you can support the School. For Haileybury, legacy gifts go a long way in helping to secure our financial future, ensuring we can continue providing the facilities and programming that inspire and motivate our pupils for generations to come.
Leaving a legacy to Haileybury
You can decide whether you would like your legacy to support the School broadly or go towards a specific purpose or part of the School that is meaningful to you.
Unrestricted
Unrestricted gifts give the School the greatest flexibility to allocate your support carefully to the areas of greatest need. Annual unrestricted support is crucial for the School’s financial health, enabling us to maintain a tradition of excellence by applying the funds flexibly to a variety of needs - both expected and unforeseen.
Specific purpose
You may prefer to direct your legacy towards a specific purpose that is meaningful to you, for example pupil bursaries, a specific House or department, or new equipment or facilities. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your plans with you before you commit them to a will, to ensure we can meet your wishes.
Tax efficient giving
Pledging a legacy to Haileybury is an easy, tax efficient way to play an important role in Haileybury’s current and future success.
Haileybury is a registered charity (Charity number: 310013) and is therefore exempt from Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax. This means that the School pays no tax on gifts of money or property made in your lifetime or after your death. A legacy to Haileybury may also reduce tax payable on your estate.
When making or updating your will we strongly recommend that you consult a solicitor to ensure it is legally valid and accurately reflects your intentions.
