GARDEN & LANDSCAPE OBELISKS
EGYPTIAN IN ORIGIN, OBELISKS WERE BROUGHT TO ROME IN THE FIRST CENTURY BC. THE OBELISK THEN ENTERED INTO THE CLASSICAL VOCABULARY, BEING MODIFIED AND DEVELOPED INTO A DECORATIVE FEATURE IN THE ENGLISH LANDSCAPE FROM THE EIGHTEENTH CENTURY ONWARDS. Ideal for formal or landscape gardens, defining a vista, at the centre of a courtyard or as a balustrade ornament.
