Modern batteries are under more and more pressure to power the ever growing electronics on a modern vehicle. Testing should be an integral part of any vehicle service, but many testers are not suitable for the modern batteries.

A modern tester should be able to test all modern batteries including AGM/EFB, they should also be able to test the starting system and the alternator. It is estimated that 1 in 4 vehicle batteries need charging and as many as 1 in 10 are nearing the end of their life.
