BSHA RISING STARS CLASS - Open to Hacks, Cobs, Hunters and Riding Horses. Mare or Gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms. The two highest placed Horses, not already qualified in the Rising Star classes, will qualify for the Rising Star Finals, to be held at The BSHA National Championship Show in September 2022. The Judges will not ride the exhibits in qualifiers but the judge will ride at the finals. There will be regional clinic days offering training from BSHA accredited trainers. RULES Rules for BSHA Rising Star Classes which must be entered into the spirit in which they are intended: 1. Open to Non-Members and Members.. Owners, Riders and Horses, are not required to be Members of the British Show Horse Association in-order to compete in the BSHA Rising Star qualifying classes, the Rising Star Finals will require a day ticket. 2. These classes are specifically aimed at those Horses and Riders who are not regularly qualifying for the major Championship Shows and wish to improve. 3. Riders must not have competed at The Royal International Horse Show or The Horse of the Year Show, with the exception of the BSHA RIHS Amateur classes pre-2022 or SEIB Search for a Star. 4. Open to Horses which are stabled at home or in a DIY or non-show yard. 5. Horses to be ridden by an Amateur, please see the current BSHA Rule Book; this does not exclude receiving lessons from a Professional showing person. 6. No Professional is allowed to ride, to work-in (in any form), compete, or enter the Ring to groom/strip the Horse. 7. Failure to abide by the Rules may result in ineligibility to compete at the BSHA National Championship Show in any class. 8. The Judge will ride ALL the exhibits in the final. 9. To register for the Supreme Final at the BSHA National Championships Show on the 10th September you must upload your details on our website using the details on the back of the qualifying rosette. The firsts 2 placing will qualify for the final from all shows holding Rising Star classes. Those qualifying at a clinic may be asked to attend a regional clinic in preparation for the BSHA National Championship Show. The Supreme Final will be held at the BSHA National Championship Show, with a prelim judging and final championship. A bursary of £200 kindly donated by the Talbot Family will be presented to the winner to be used with a BSHA Accredited Trainer of their choice. The classes will be open to non-members and members who have never qualified for RIHS or HOYS before (not including SFAS). To compete at the Supreme Final they would need to purchase a BSHA Day Ticket.

QUALIFIER FOR HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW 2022 N.E.C BIRMINGHAM 5th – 9th OCTOBER 2022 Held under the rules of the British Show Horse Association, with the HOYS rulebook taking precedence. Horses must be registered with the Association and all owners, producers and riders must be Association Members. RIDERS MUST BE 15 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. TOPHAM BARNES SMALL RIDING HORSE, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms and not exceeding 158cms. 21. TOPHAM BARNES LARGE RIDING HORSE, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over, exceeding 158cms. Classes 19 & 20 are qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show. The first prize winner will qualify to compete at the final. If already qualified the second will qualify, if the first and second are already qualified then the third will go forward and so forth to fifth place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. In accordance with BSHA rules the annual £16 Horse of the Year Show fee must have been paid to BSHA before the entry is made if the exhibitor wishes to qualify. The BSHA Horse of the Year Show fee cannot be paid in retrospect. This fee is not the Horse of the Year Show contribution which goes to Grandstand Media Ltd. These classes will be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk.
