Garrett (Antony Starr) makes a move to get closer to the daughter (guest star Catalina Sandino Moreno) of the killer’s first victim. 10:01 p.m. on USA Mr. Robot Arguably the most strikingly original TV show of 2015, this Golden Globe- and Peabody Award-winning drama introduced viewers to Elliot (Rami Malek), a brilliant but unstable and drug-addicted computer Hacker who fell in with a band of techno-anarchists in Season 1. In the season finale, Elliot made the head-spinning discovery that his mentor, played by Christian Slater, apparently exists only in Elliot’s mind. Look for that relationship to be further explored in Season 2,
which begins tonight with two backto-back episodes.
THURSDAY 10 p.m. on NBC Aquarius Manson (Gethin Anthony) and his followers receive something welcome and something not in the new episode “Piggies.” Hodiak’s (David Duchovny) pursuit of a homicide clue leads him to hurdles that force him to revise his approach. A shootout between radicals and police officers impacts the marriage of Shafe and Kristin (Grey Damon, Milauna Jackson).
FRIDAY 8 p.m. on ABC Secrets of the Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey Virtually anyone can guess this new special has to do with “Star Wars.” Much of the focus is on the most recent big-screen chapter, a blockbuster hit during last winter’s holiday season (and now available on home video) — but the hour also looks ahead to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” highlighted in the broadcast premiere of a trailer for it. Part of the big news on that December release is that James Earl Jones will supply Darth Vader’s voice again.
SATURDAY 9 p.m. on HALL Movie: A Perfect Christmas As newlyweds Steve and Cynthia (Dillon Casey, Susie Abromeit) nervously look forward to playing yuletide hosts for their out-of-town relatives for the first time, each of them runs into a major life complication. Neither tells the other about these developments, since they both want to ensure their family Christmas plans come off without a hitch. As the holiday approaches, however, the stress of keeping these secrets starts to become unbearable. Erin Gray also stars in this new 2016 dramedy.
