Police believe speed and

alcohol could both have contributed to a wreck that killed a Buford man on Interstate 985 early Monday morning.

Michael L. Bruce, 29, was driving south on I-985 near the Ga. 20 exit ramp when he tried to pass a Mazda on the right shoulder

Eddie Lee Boswell

Eddie Lee Boswell, 67, of Danielsville, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016. Born in Elberton, he was the son of the late William Eddie Boswell and Katherine Simmons Boswell Bryant. Eddie was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula where he served as a deacon. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having survived the explosion of the USS Enterprise Carrier in 1969 off the coast of Pearl Harbor. He retired from AT&T after 40 years. Eddie enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, spending time with friends and family & most importantly his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Boswell. Survivors include his wife, Vicky Wheelis Boswell; two daughters, Heather Boswell Edwards (Billy Edwards) and Amanda Boswell; one brother, David Boswell; two grandchildren, William Brayden Edwards and Harrison Lee Edwards and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Elberton. Pallbearers will be Corey Boswell, Chad Boswell, Blake Nash, Max Nash, Gabe Martin, Kurt Cooper and Jesse Compton. James Sunda James Sunda, born in Lillian, Alabama. Alumnus of Foley High School and Toccoa Falls College. A missionary with the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). He married Deloris Reynolds in 1955 and started the C&MA church in Marietta GA. They left in 1957 for Dutch New Guinea (now Papua Indonesia) to serve as missionaries there. They served the Dani people in the Baliem Valley for the next 39 years. This country boy from Alabama influenced 10’s of 1000’s of lives, bringing not only God’s word to the natives of Papua but hope for a healthier life through education, medicine and agriculture. After retirement from the mission field he worked with the Lilburn Alliance Church in Lilburn, Georgia for another 20 years ministering in deliverance, counseling, seniors ministry, visitation, teaching and training. In a less formal capacity he was a mentor to many men. Deloris passed away in August of 2015. Jim is survived by his children: Margie Ulsh (Tom), Joy Riconda (Louis), Doug Sunda, Susan Payton (Doug); and 7 grandchildren: Jennifer, Heather, Rachel, Erik, Jonathan, Adam and Joseph.
