Diretta per il quarto anno da Marco Müller, la 64. Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia è un appuntamento immancabile: dal 29 agosto all’8 settembre 2007 il grande cinema mondiale si ritroverà come ogni anno al Lido con un programma ricco di anteprime internazionali e grandi star, di maestri del cinema e delle opere più rappresentative di ciò che di nuovo offre la produzione internazionale. A fianco delle tre sezioni ufficiali in programma (il Concorso che assegna il Leone d’Oro, i Gala Fuori Concorso che includeranno anche alcune sceltissime proiezioni di Mezzanotte e Orizzonti), sarà presentata una retrospettiva dedicata al “Western all’italiana”. Il regista statunitense Tim Burton riceverà il Leone d’Oro alla carriera della 64. Mostra, un omaggio a uno dei cineasti più coraggiosi, visionari e innovativi del panorama cinematografico internazionale. Il premio sarà consegnato al regista il 5 settembre nella Sala Grande del Palazzo del Cinema, al termine di uno speciale “Tim Burton Day”. La Mostra festeggia quest’anno il 75° anniversario. Il debutto risale al 6 agosto 1932, con la proiezione del Dr. Jekill e Mr. Hyde di Rouben Mamoulian sulla terrazza dell’Hotel Excelsior al Lido. Così nacque il primo festival cinematografico del mondo, tuttora modello di riferimento universale: basato su un concorso internazionale di film e su diverse rassegne collaterali, ha scoperto centinaia di autori, lanciato tendenze, svelato cinematografie lontane, celebrato i divi e i maestri, rappresentato un inimitabile porto franco per la cultura e lo spettacolo. Oggi come allora, al Lido di Venezia si respira la stessa atmosfera: registi, divi, produttori, personalità, film d’autore e pellicole di grande intrattenimento, pronostici anche sbagliati, delusioni e polemiche, ma soprattutto gioie e sorprese inaspettate, perché di questo è fatto il mondo del cinema. 102
For the fourth year lead by Marco Müller, the 64th International Exhibition of Cinematic Arts in Venice is an appointment you cannot miss: from 29 August to 8 September 2007 the world biggest artists of the motion picture industry will gather like every year at Lido, with a rich program of international preview showings and great stars, famous moviemakers and the newest most representative works produced worldwide. Besides the official sections of the program (the Concorso which awards the Leone D´Oro and the Gala Fuori Concorso, which will include some screenings of Mezzanotte and Orizzonti) a retrospective exhibition will be dedicated to the genre “Western all´Italiana”. During the 64th International Exhibition, the US director Tim Burton will be awarded The Leone D´Oro for his career. The prize, a tribute to his brave, visionary and innovative contributions in the motion picture industry, will be handed over on 5 September in the Great Hall (Sala Grande) of Palazzo del Cinema, at the end of the special “Tim Burton Day”. On 6 August,1932 Dr Jekill and Mr Hyde by Rouben Mamoulian was shown on the terrace of the Excelsior Hotel at Lido. This is how the first film festival of the world was born. The festival is based on an international film competition and various related shows and is still a universal reference in the motion picture industry: it has launched hundreds of authors, set trends, revealed remote pictures, celebrated stars and directors, represented an outport for culture and show business. Today in Venice Lido you can feel the same thrill: directors, stars, producers, personalities, art films and entertainment movies, forecasts sometimes even wrong-disappointments and disputes, but above all joy and unexpected surprises, because this is the world of cinema.
