“Titans” chega ao GUIdance como um lembrete da frágil condição humana, evocando a importância de todos os fracassos. Nesta peça, Euripides Laskaridis trabalha em estreita colaboração com o figurinista Angelos Mendis e cria um cenário apocalíptico para explorar a perseverança da humanidade diante do desconhecido. O desespero perante o fim da razão, um mundo desolador que evoca uma era em que os titãs governavam o universo. “Titans” traz à cena criaturas dos sítios mais recônditos da mente para refletirmos sobre quem somos. Desde sempre nos impomos a acreditar num ideal. Mas com que propósito? O que distingue, afinal, o ideal do real? A fraqueza humana? A falência titânica de uma ordem ética? “Titans” assinala o quão frágil e enganador é o arquétipo da perfeição.
“Titans” arrives at GUIdance as a reminder of the fragile human condition, underscoring the importance of all our failures. In this piece, Euripides Laskaridis works in close collaboration with designer Angelos Mendis to create an apocalyptic scenario to explore the perseverance of humanity when faced with the unknown, despair when faced with the end of reason, a desolating world which evokes the era when the Titans governed the universe. “Titans” brings creatures to the stage from the secret most places in the mind for us to reflect on who we are. We have always strived to believe in an ideal. But for what purpose? In the end, what distinguishes the ideal from the real? Human weakness? The titanic fallacy of an ethical order? “Titans” points to how fragile and deceiving the archetype of perfection is.
