National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week is Sunday, April 9th through Saturday April 15th

This week is set aside each year to honor the men and women of 911 who serve our community by answering emergency calls, dispatching Law, Fire, and EMS, and rendering life-saving assistance to those in need

Your Grand Traverse County Emergency Telecommunicators effectively meet their mission as First Responders every day, and they do so with skill, professionalism, and compassion

They regularly sacrifice time with family on holiday, weekends, special family events, and much more Most recently, we have been working through a staffing shortage, which has increased the demand for working extra hours to ensure no call goes unanswered As the 911 Director, I could not be more proud of our team Through all of the tribulations, our Emergency Telecommunicators remain resilient, and determined to never let the mission fail. They consistently answer the public's call for help when they need it most Thank you all for the job you do to protect the citizens and visitors of Grand Traverse County!

CRIME VICTIMS SUPPORT WALK - PROSECUTING ATTORNEY'S OFFICE

'In honor of National Crime Victims Week, April 23-29, the GT Prosecuting Attorney's Office is hosting a Crime Victims Support Walk on April 26th. The walk will begin at 5:30 at the Historic Courthouse. The walk will end at the Open Space with presentations from crime victims, law enforcement and the prosecutor's office Please join us in supporting local crime victims."
